Malky's planned trip to Malaysia(which was organised 2 months ago) to meet up with Tan and co this Thursday is cancelled and wont be now happening this Summer.
Also they are saying there is bad weather over there.

Malky is staying over here to concentrate on building his squad up. :ayatollah:

Cardiff City's pre-season trip to be cancelled due to state of emergency call in Malaysia
24 Jun 2013

Malaysian billionaire-backer Vincent Tan had organised a trip to his home nation but it now looks doomed due to poor weather

Cardiff City's promotional trip to Malaysia looks like it will be called off due to poor weather conditions in the Far East.

Bluebirds boss Malky Mackay, his assistant David Kerslake, Craig Bellamy and skipper Mark Hudson were all due to fly out on Thursday until July 2 to raise the Premier League club's profile in Asia.

The trip had been organised by Cardiff's billionaire-backer Vincent Tan who is keen to see the club tap into lucrative football markets in his home nation.

But it is now in major doubt as a state of emergency has been declared as 100 wild fires continue to burn on the island of Sumatra.

Cancelled because of the smog in Kuala Lumpur and the airport being shut, not to do with Malky cancelling it to concentrate on the squad. Still good news though, unnecessary trip in my view.

So the smog is going to be there for 14 hours?

Why is it funny? The smog is quite a big problem, they've declared a state of emergency in two districts because of it, so it will probably be there longer than the 14 hours, yes.

smog in that part of world can be really bad without wildfires but anyway this trip was being stated as opening up the Asian market to CCFC and Tan was backing it, well I would have thought that if you wanted to market something like CCFC you would have organised a pre-season tour of the team not just the gaffer and a few players.

I've previously lived in Singapore. They suffer from Indonesia's smog very badly there. Johor Bahru, one of Malaysia biggest cities is just across the straight and Kuala Lumpur is just a very short plane ride oop north so the Malaysians will be getting bad it too. It'll be like one giant satay grill over there right now, it will, gor blimey.

Better Malky stays aware. We don't him coming down with respiratory problems.
