Cowie to Leicester?

Mon Jun 24, 2013 9:53 am

Don't know whether this is new or old news, but I have heard from a lad up our head office in Leicester that noises are being made up there to try and take Cowie up to Leicester.
Maybe our first exit?

Personally, I can't see it, and would like Don to stay as a squad player. But, is he good enough for the Prem?

I was thinking he'd go to Rangers or something like that.

Not a bad move for him at all if it comes off

Championship is his level I feel. These are the type of players weve got to upgrade if we want to stay in the PL.

Agree with that, but I still think his work rate and "getting in the face" of PL players could be useful at times next season. Especially when we are hanging on in the last 15 mins of a game.

Well if we upgrade the defenisve midfielder ie Wanyama then Gunnar can become that player off the bench to close it down.

I think Gunnar will be starting personally

I'd like to see Gunnar start. Was so important last season, he at least needs the opportunity to prove himself.
May get a few bookings with the falling over antics of PL players - this may be his downfall when he gets stuck in to tackles.

He didnt feature regularly last season, he would feature even less next season. I'd be happy to move him on.

Not for me. Rather see Wanyama - Whitts - Kim in a midfield three. Ball retention is of the upmost importance in the PL and Gunar cannot pass water.

It would be a good move for him because he won't get much first team football with us.

I thought he was going to Forest? What happened there then?

I think this would be a good move for him, and I also think he is one of the players that we should be trying to 'upgrade' on. To be fair Leicester I'm sure will have a decent pop again next season.

Amazing engine from his cross country days, but I don't think you can teach the skill levels we need at that age, and hence the need to bring in people like Ince and the terrying terrapin muncher.

He has to be good enough for the PL to be a member of the squad surely?

He is not good enough for the PL; good enough possibly for Scotland but that is no benchmark.

One who did a job for us at 2nd tier level but we have got to have better fringe players.

Same goes for Connelly, McNaughton just to name 2.

It be nice if he stayed but personally wouldn't blame him if he moved.

Cant see him going back to Scottish football especially the third tier with "the" rangers.

Very decent chapoinship players but don't rate him much as a winger not quick enough, so doesn't fit in the system now. if we get a good offer i'd let him go.

I never said he was going to Leicester, I said I heard from someone I know up there that they are tracking him, and possibly have already enquired.

 I can confirm its internet chatter. I posted this on the Leicester board a few weeks ago just to see what kind of responce it would generate.

I think there is some TRUTH in this. I know a couple who live in the same close as both Conway and Cowie. Cowie told them last week when he got back from holiday and the Scotland game that he was porbably moving soon
