On twitter saying £49 is ok and Wigan got relegated because of the low ticket prices.... idiot of a man...when he was Birmingham chair he charged high prices for tickets and Brum were still relegated

This is premier league prices, get used to it.

What are you talking about? Get used it? Premier league teams over charging fans will eventually kill the game.

Hopefully fans will force the issue....at least five clubs moved the area away fans are situated because of falling away attendances....the empty seats are an embarrassment to Sky TV away attendance dropped by 7% again last season third year running

Seen a tv article last week the PL are concerned with dwindling away attendances.
They will have to step in soon.

Sun Jun 23, 2013 6:44 pm
Are we a Category 1 game for West Ham then?
last time I checked last seasons prices they had 3 categories for pricing and the Category A was £49 for the likes of Man'ure, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs etc

He's only telling it how it is. Clubs would gladly do away with away fans, there is no benefit in it anymore. They will pump up prices until no one goes but in the meantime reap the benefits of hefty prices. No away fans means less problems and more seats for home fans. A win win situation.
We DO have to get used to it but we should never give up the fight either.

Only if fans are prepared to pay such extortionate prices, clubs will bring the prices down if fans stay away. Sky will make sure of it or else....

"You will pay more at different London clubs" doubt Palace will charge more and Spurs are charging us less I think.
They only have Adults and OAPs/U16s, a 17 year old like myself shouldn't have to pay an adult price, I'm not an adult, I can't buy alcohol etc so why am I being charged for adult prices?
We are being made to pay silly prices because West Ham are paying OTT for players, for example he said he'd have lower prices if the fans demanded less, so if they didn't sign Carroll, Jarvis and all that etc it'd be cheaper, what a silly businessman.

even if clubs change their stance on ticket pricing i can't see prices dropping by that much.
Sun Jun 23, 2013 6:50 pm
I don't care what he says, 2 seasons ago they were charging £27, not £49.
An increase of almost 100% - how is there any justification in that?
Same standard of football, same ground, same average team.
Sun Jun 23, 2013 6:53 pm
Its a disgrace and the London Clubs are known for it. What are we charging away Fans by the way ?

Your probably right but there are clubs that are struggling with attendances and Skysports like to see a full house.
Sun Jun 23, 2013 7:14 pm
We will charge you 45 quid mind

It's quite interesting the debate on away fans, you would have to think that most of the modern day owners would see away fans as nothing more than an inconvenience, as these owners have no idea of what they bring to the atmosphere or they care little for the football going experience of the ordinary supporter. I am sure that majority of the old time Chairmen would have seen away supporters as a necessary evil, I reckon that the new breed of owners just look at the balance sheets and if it is more economical to fill those seats with home fans then they would do it, regardless of the cultural morality of away fans being at games and adding to the whole football match experience.
Sun Jun 23, 2013 7:47 pm
if people are dull enough to pay it they will charge it. lemmons on a cliff.
Sun Jun 23, 2013 7:52 pm
Paying that for WHU doesn't interest me, I won't be going.
Hope we charge them the same.
Sun Jun 23, 2013 7:54 pm
I would get behind corky and the £20 away ticket throughout the prem. £49 is a piss take for west ham defo.
This would never of happened if we'd stayed in div 1/2 lol
