I don't get this to be honest. Of all the countries in the world you could go to unearth a top footballer, why choose Malaysia or any of the countries around that region. If it was a karate club and you were looking for the next Bruce Lee then that is an ideal place to go scouting. But football?
Surely you'd get more luck looking in places like Germany or Eastern Europe. Maybe South America, like Argentina or Brazil. They tend to pop out the odd player now and again.
I realise the club wants closer ties with Malaysia but on the field it's all about winning and getting the best players to do that.

That's just and 'add on' to the trip. The main reason has got to,be to drum up interest in their Malaysian Premier League club.

Yup spot on mate. No harm in having a look at some players whilst we're out there though. Will maybe be able to get some more Malaysians onside by offering a few trials?

I don't think we are spending too many resources on scouting in Malaysia. We are heavily involved in 1 Malaysia Cardiff City soccer schools but that is more of a political thing so that VT gets well looked after by the Malaysian Government.

We should take one kid from over there, play him in some pre season friendlies for a bit to live the dream and use it for promotion campaign then send him back to Malaysia. Nothing wrong with that. Malaysian player gets a trip to the CQ Nomads, living the dream. Once in a lifetime opportunity for them over there.
