odds drifitng on Tom Ince - bad timing for Malky?

Sun Jun 23, 2013 10:44 am

According to SkyBet the odds of Tom Ince signing have gone from 1/3 to 6/5 in 24 hours. I personally think he will still sign for you as as it stands you are the only ones willing to pay what Blackpool are asking. But the longer this goes on the more chance of another club coming in for him.

Is it terrible timing for Malky to be away doing all this Malaysian guff?

I think you really need to get him as losing out on Wanyama, Van Dijk, Gomis, Ince and Cole would prove a big blow for preperations and secondary targets will probably come into play.

We were never in for Cole or Van Dijk
Gomis is still a possibility
Wanyama is still a possibility
Ince is still a possibility

For every so called target you've seen in the press, Malky and his recruitment team have many more lined up that you won't have a clue about

Incredibly if Malky does go to Malaysia, his head of recruitment might not. There's several inventions you might not be familiar with like mobile phones and Skype that might come in handy for these people nowadays. You're not thinking this through are you, but then again, you thought Nantes were Monaco, so anything is possible

Am I worried about what?

Wanyama, Van Dijk and Cole are all realistic targets. Wanyama would be pushing out the boat but still achievable with a budget that yours is reported to be.

Didn't Carl or Latest update, who are pretty much the same, say that you wanted cole but pulled out because he didn't want to live in Cardiff.

As for Nantes and Monaco, come on Mr Gent you also conveniently ignored you have said you will be top 6 season after next ;) (we can all make errors)

Tony

The trip to Malaysia has been arranged for months and in fact the same trip happened last summer.
Malky is out there to promote the clubs profile in Malaysia and as you said the wheels keep turning through phone e.mail and Skype
Everyone whining about malkys lack of signings but apart from Liverpool, Aston villa and man city transfer activity in the premiership is relatively quiet.
Being favourites to get relegated makes malkys job twice as difficult but as always if the players are not sure about coming then we don't want them.
We can see what was achieved with a committed squad full of togetherness last year despite being without a top striker for most of the season.
Malky will be looking for that same type of player for the squad and will not fetch a big name primma Donna in to disrupt morale.
May be a poor comparison but man utd strolled the league last year with arguably their weakest squad for years but their work ethic and togetherness is always there for everyone to see.

Just like Jonny Williams said: We were the Man Utd of the championship :)

Totally agree as usual with you Steve. I never doubted that Malky wasn't the man to take us to the top flight, and I've absolutely no doubt that by August 16th, everything will be in place for us to have a wonderful first season consolidating our rightful place. The op is a professional WUM and can't help himself. He might get a few bites, but when someone knowledgable puts him in the bigger picture, he starts waffling and sets up another thread about more bollocks :laughing6:

Sky Sports News just reported we've agreed a deal with Blackpool and are talking personal terms with Ince. I'll take it as a pinch of salt and until it's confirmed I won't believe anything, but there does seem to be a lot of talk about this transfer. :ayatollah:
