Spain v Tahiti

Thu Jun 20, 2013 9:02 pm

I came home to see they were only 3-0 up but they ended up winning 10-0.

A mention of respect and hands up to Tahiti.. the keeper was loving it when Torres missed a penalty.

They know their not expected to even win but fairplay they play with a good attitude and put in 100%.

It is great what I saw at the end swapping shirts etc.. then Spain left the field for the applauds to go to Tahiti.

Spain respected the game and played a strong team.

Nice to see some good in Football. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Perhaps our national team should play the Tahitians easily a 2-0 win

I was actually disappointed by Spain, I expected at least 13, they were really sloppy in their passing at times.

But as you said, a great deal of respect was shown tonight. By Spain for swapping shirts and being good sports about the occasion. And by Tahiti, for coming out and having a go instead of defending like San Marino would have.

Times like that its great to be a football fan :ayatollah:

A bit critical of Spain, they can't always make a pass after pass but agreed. :ayatollah:

What I mean is like, they knew they had it in the bag from the start so they didn't need to make much of an effort. Usually they would make those passes with ease, but sometimes they went straight to the Tahiti players. Still, 10-0 is a thrashing.

I get you. Spain never changed anything in how they do things. Navas was different class when he came on. The pace and speed for his age 27 is quite mad. I know you can have pace and speed but his is unreal. Villa is class to watch.

Just makes you wonder how poor the teams that Tahiti beat to get into the Confederations Cup were.

It was a non-event in terms of a result but football is such a beautiful game because it delivers moments like this. When Tahiti scored against Nigeria in the 6-1 defeat, it was like previous moments we've seen in football such as Cameroon scoring against Argentina at Italia '90 and Senegal scoring against France at the 2002 World Cup. Some people might be questioning what the point of having a team like Tahiti in this competition is and to be honest, I'd rather watch Tahiti play like that and lose 10-0 than someone like Uruguay play like they did against Spain and lose 2-1. :ayatollah:

Spain can't out out a bad team if they tried. Their u21 team would smash Wales. Lol.

TNS could have beaten Tahiti.

Makes a mockery of the torunament.

Their confederation have to play a play-off to get in the World Cup Finals because the standard is so poor.
