Malky Working Hard To Get Quality Players In

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has explained his plans and has insisted that the club are committed to adding only the right calibre of players to the squad this summer.
The newly promoted Bluebirds start their 2013/14 campaign in the English top flight against West Ham at Upton Park on 17th August. Their first home game is against 2011/12 Premier League winners Manchester City.
Mackay’s side finished at the top of the Championship table last season, with a whopping 87 points – eight points ahead of second-placed Hull City.
The manager has insisted that the club’s recruitment team are working to investigate the players the Welsh club need, and make signings accordingly.
"The recruitment team are in their busiest time of the year at the moment in between [transfer] windows", Mackay was quoted as saying by the BBC.
"There’s an awful lot of work gone on behind the scenes in terms of going to watch players, reports coming in, speaking to agents and football clubs to make sure we bring the correct quality of player that’s going to help the group."
"The quality of the player again has to go up because we’re going into an even better league.
"[When] bringing players to the football club [we] try and make sure we investigate them well enough that we don’t make too many mistakes and they come in and be successful over a period of time."
The club’s Malaysian owner Vincent Tan earlier revealed that Cardiff City could spend up to £25m on summer signings – prior to the build-up to their debut English Premier League season.
