Could Thomas Ince join Cardiff?

Cardiff City are prepared to meet Blackpool's £8m asking price for Blackpool star Thomas Ince, according to latest transfer rumours surrounding the club.

The 21-year-old was a big hit in the Championship last season as he scored 18 goals for the Tangerines.

And the Bluebirds are one of a number of Premier League clubs known to be keen on a potential move.

Liverpool are still in pole position, according to the Daily Mail, with the Reds having an option to match any bid for him under the terms of his move to Blackpool from Anfield two years ago.

Brendan Rodgers' side also have a 35 per cent sell-on clause which means they could sign the 21-year-old for an initial figure of just over £5m.

Bluebirds boss Malky Mackay is a big admirer of the play-maker but it remains to be seen whether he would be prepared to splash such a significant proportion of his transfer budget on one player.

Malaysian owner Vincent Tan has promised Mackay around £25m this summer, and Mackay is keen to bring in around half a dozen new faces.

Ince, who was part of Engalnd's recent failed Eurpean Under 21 Championship campaign recently said: “After the Euros I will sit down with my dad (former England star Paul Ince) and the chairman of Blackpool and see where we go.”

“But at the moment I am a Blackpool player with a year left on my contract so we will see what happens.”

Considering the standard of the England team is that anything to shout about.

Looking at the recent performance of the England U21s the future for the England team I believe will only get worse.

Listening to Sky Sports the other day the Germans, Spanish and Dutch have been developing their youth systems for some considerable time with alot more emphasis on the technical side of things. In the mean time the U.K. football governing bodies continue with the same old crap. No wonder U.K football is becomming more and more flooded with foreign players and the national teams just cannot compete in major tournaments, that's of course if they can qualify for them in the first place.
