Cardiff suffer set-back in pursuit of Dutch ace
Cardiff’s hopes of completing a move for Feyenoordh midfielder Lex Immers have taken a hit, with news that the Dutch giants are unwilling to let him leave this summer.
The newly promoted side have been strongly linked with the 27-year-old over the course of the last few months after securing their passage into the Premier League.
Manager Malky Mackay is believed to be keen to draft in a number of players in a bid to keep his side in the top flight and avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
Immers is one man he has placed on his wish list, after being impressed with his performances in the Eredivisie.
But, Feyenoord’s technical director, Martin van Geel, has dashed their hopes of signing the midfielder, insisting that no offers have been received, and that even if they were they would be rejected.
“Lex Immers is not for sale. He is crucial to our way of playing,” he is quoted by Sky Sports via Voetbal.
“We want to keep these players and otherwise any negotiations will be hard. That is the advantage of long-term contracts instead of short or loan deals.”
Meanwhile, Cardiff have also been linked with Blackpool’s Tom Ince and Oussama Assaidi of Liverpool.
Cardiff fans, does Malky Mackay need to make major signings to keep your side in the Premier League?

No matter what, there will be plenty articles about us not getting players, wether we are linked with them or not.
part and parcel of being a newly promoted side I guess.

They are kind of playing into our hands on this one.
Bringing attention up in the media doesn't make anything better.
