Tom Ince - lets be serious

Thu Jun 20, 2013 8:13 am

We would have to pay around £8.5m for him. Because of Liverpools sell-on clause they could get him for £5m - the lad has to be worth a punt at £5m. His old man still has ties there. His old man is bound to steer his lad towards one of Englands most famous
clubs (even tho they are shit now) He's going Liverpool. Brenda would be an absolute knobhead not to buy the lad. Lets move swiftly along to our next target

tend to agree, cant see his dad letting him come here ,even though he'd play most games would he do that at liverpool not so sure and depends on tom himself does he want to play in the prem and get a start or stay at blackpool then walk out next year ,be a top signing but i really dont see it happening .

Why would brendan be a knobhead? He can sign much better players than Ince.

I think he'd be a guaranteed starter for us. The lad is class. But he has to weigh up Liverpool, where he wont get as many games perhaps or more games at Cardiff City where everyone expects us to struggle (i actually don't :) ) At least its shows we're not f*cking about.

they are trying to sign this guy, so ince will not be going to Liverpool!

lets hope his dad advises him (doubt it) to come here so he gets games in the prem and can then make a bigger move but if he came here he'd play most weeks .

Liverpool wanted him back but decided to move on to different targets in the summer.

for £5m? Ince is about the best young English player out there. Just the fact that he is english will mean his stock will rise dramatically if he has anything like a decent first season. Lets not forget Liverpool spent £20m on Henderson who is pony.

You make Tom Ince sound like Lionel Messi ffs.

He is not proven at the top level, and just had a shit U21 tournament.

Well if it is the 8 million quoted Liverpool have a 40% future fee clause which would give them around 3.2 million.

Sorry mis read your previous post thought you said liverpool would get 5 million for him if we get him.

It is hard as a winger or forward to be able to look good in a team that gets thoroughly out played. The English set up was dreadful in the tournament. To be outplayed by Israel is shocking on their behalf. Pearce is an awful manager. Picked no strikers and deserved to lose every game.

So Pearce was to blame for the players not being able to pass from A to B?

The fee could reach 8 million with add ons ,it's not 8 million cash up front I would be surprise if it won't cost us halfway much as 8 million

If weve got 8 million to burn on a championship player id rather test Blackburns resolve for Jordan Rhodes

Don't you know we are after him too?

Re: Tom Ince - lets be serious

Tom Ince has great potential but I don't feel we can expose it. He would need to join a Premier side with Experience to help and assist in his development. At us he is just another Championship Player in a higher league.

We need experience as well as youth if we are to survive.

So Liverpool are going for a Ghanian international playing with a well established European team, Porto, valued at £3 million yet we are pushing for a championship player, a rarer good one it must be said, and are will to go the full hogg of £8 million.

This sounds crazy. I thought imports were meant to be a lot more expensive.

Imorts have always been cheaper Ian. Try and sign an English player and his market value doubles.

Imports are always cheaper than British players ,normally less wages too

As seems to be the case these days.

To me it looks like the British footballer is pricing himself out of the market so is about to.

Going abroad is a trip into the unknown but get it right and it can pay off.

I think we will see the best of Kimbo next year and 2.5m will look a snip.

Maybe liverpool have learnt from their mistakes of paying ridiculous prices for english talent such as carrooll, downing, henderson etc and going for cheaper (possibly more) proven foreign talent?
