There is little surprise that a promoted team yet to make a single signing is expected to get relegated by the bookies.
At the moment, Crystal Palace and Hull are favourites for the drop with the Bluebirds slightly ahead of them at ½.
Paddy Power say the Bluebirds are 3/1 to win their first game away at West Ham, where they won on the opening day in the Championship two seasons ago.
But optimistic Bluebirds out their willing to take a punt will already be looking at the whopping 4000/1 odds on a shock Premier League title win.

In reality, their place as third favourites to go down (just ahead of other promoted sides Crystal Palace and Hull City) is about right at this moment in time but captain Mark Hudson has other ideas.
The skipper said: “We know that it's tough for new sides.
“We have no illusions about that but we've made it to the Premier League."
"We are here to compete.
“That's something that we've always had.
"We stick together, we won't get carried away with things, we'll work hard and we'll get things right on the training ground."
On the opening day, Malky Mackay's men travel to East London to face Sam Allardyce's Hammers, who are odds on 4/5 to win the game and a draw is 5/2.
Hudson said: “It's a great trip for us to start the season.
“We've been watching West Ham and how well they did last year.
“In addition, the first home game against Man City is going to be great for the fans.
"It has been a bit surreal until now.
“When it comes out and you see the teams you will be facing it's exciting times and it starts to sink in."
