Leeds away 2005

Mon Jun 17, 2013 12:01 pm

Seeing as this was a bubble trip which saw us put in the ground at 1pm without a single drop of beer on sale, this is one of my favourite away days. :ayatollah:

Huge anticipation of trouble for this game as it was the first fixture between the two clubs since the infamous FA Cup tie, which made for a very lively trip up on the bus!

I dont think we took much more than 1000 fans but what an atmosphere. I was about 19 at the time and felt like I was the youngest in our support! Mainly old school ugly bastards made the trip, real hardened loyal City fans! The nosie from our end was deafening all game and for the hour lock in post match. I still think this was onw of the loudest away followings I've been part of!

SCOTT YOUNG, THERES ONLY ONE SCOTT YOUNG THERES ONLY ONE SCOTT YOUNG!!

I really should add that our behaviour that day was impeccable and it was the Leeds lot that ran riot. We got behind the team in the best way possible for 90 mins, and I think were were even praised by the Yorkshire plod? Big Gwyn may confirm this?

i remember coming out of the ground after being held for ages and a leeds copper was talking to simon insole and he was saying we have spent 45 mins clearingthe area when it would have been easier to let this mob out to clear the streets in seconds
only mob better than that one was millwall away in 1999
