He is better than any striker we have. Easily, with Campbells injury record.

I like Hooper. Not sure they'll get him for £4m though, even if his contract runs out next season. £5.5m and I think he'll be available

he has a good record up there but you have to remember that Celtic just dominate the SPL and will create lots more chances than most teams would so he is bound to score for fun up in Scotland. I don't think he will make it in the Premier League

Out of interest how many did he score in the Champions League?

7 Goals in 18 games in Europe. Not a bad record

Bollocks. Nicky Maynard scored more for the wurzels than Hooper did for Scunthorpe in the Championship. So its fair to say that
Maynard would have scored a shitload in the SPL. So would Frazer. Remember wen loads of City fans wanted goodwilly? the SPL is no proving ground many of the teams in it are pretty much league 1 standard

Gary Hooper: Hull City bid for Celtic striker

Hull City have made an undisclosed bid, believed to be about £4.5m, for Celtic striker Gary Hooper.
Celtic are understood to value Hooper, who scored 31 goals for the club last season, at about £7m.
However, the 25-year-old has only one year left on his contract and the Scottish champions may decide to cash in while they can.
Celtic, who paid Scunthorpe £2.4m for Hooper in 2010, rejected a series of bids from Norwich City in January.
Meanwhile, Hull goalkeeper Mark Oxley, who made his first senior appearance for the club against Sheffield Wednesday in January, has signed a new two-year deal.
The 23-year-old joined the Tigers from Rotherham United in 2008 and subsequently gained first-team experience through loan spells with Walsall, Grimsby Town and Burton Albion.

I rate him But proving yourself in Scotland is not a lot different to being the runaway top goalscorer in league 1
when you have a £10m team around you week in week out.

Sky Sports sources understand that Celtic have rejected Hull City's bid for Gary Hooper.

We revealed early on Wednesday that newly promoted Hull had made a move for Hooper and lodged an offer for the former Scunthorpe United striker.

However, with the bid believed to be just over £4million, Celtic have reacted quickly by turning down the offer.

Hooper has just one year left on his contract at Celtic Park, and is attracting a great deal of interest from his native England.

Norwich City, who tried to buy him in January, along with, Sunderland, Southampton and Reading are also being linked with the 25-year-old forward.

Celtic over value all of their players amd are right greedy bastards, but I if they can get it good luck to them.

I agree with points above because these players have such an easy season in Scotland they appear much better than they are, I know they play the odd game in Europe but appear better in those games because their league games are so easy....

Sorry but just can't see that :? Forget Campbell's injury record in this comparison because if you're not as good a player at Prem level even if you play every game you won't score as many as someone who's better and may only play 20 games.

I would actually rate Campbell and Maynard above Hooper based on their careers to date. In fact, Campbell has actually scored a few goals at Prem level, earning hinself an England cap, which would seem to suggest he's done more in his career so far.

Similarly, Hooper isn't a young kid working his way up, unlike our new Danish Tank who, it could be argued, has a lot more longterm potential. I'll trust Malky's judgement on that one :malky:

Hull can have Hooper, but at £4m+ they may regret it.

They have apparently bid 4.5 m for Charlie Austin.
