Blue-v-Red - Seperate Forum

Wed Jun 12, 2013 5:51 am

Those that know me, either from this messageboard or doing the photography for the club, will know that I am neither Pro-Blue or Anti-Red. I am just someone who has supported the club since 1973 am proud of the clubs history and, unlike my father who didn't get the chance, pleased to see the Bluebirds in the Premiership.

I respect the feelings of every single Cardiff City supporter. We are such a diverse group that the priorities of some may not be the priorities of others - but we are all entitled to our opinions.

This post is more out of frustration than anything else. I stopped posting on the MMMB due to the often ridiculous depths that the MB went to. Mike is a great guy. It is sad that others spoiled what was a good MB.

I fear the same may happen here. Every day we are faced with the Red-v-Blue discussion. I accept the feelings in both camps but, 12 months on, it is now too much. All I want is to read about Cardiff City. The gossip. Who we are going to sign. Who we have been linked in - and the odd bit of banter with our friends down the road.

Some may say that Red-v-Blue is so important that it should be allowed on the main board. I would argue that if it is as important as some suggest then it is deserving of its own Sub-Forum. So that those who want to debate can do so and those that don't can concentrate on the main banter.

Agree but nothing will get done.

Paul

things are highlighted more at the moment because there is no football and no signings. In the next couple of weeks the new signings will arrive and although the rebrand will still crop up the board will start to concentrate on football.
I dont believe in splitting the forum because to all intent and purposes people could be seen as nailing their colours to the mast either way and i believe the abuse and belittling that goes on would get worse.

Even if we had a separate forum called Bluebirds Unite. Those that wanted to participate could and those that didn't want wouldn't have the arguments thrust upon them day in day out.

Around October last year a few figures were suggested to me.

95-100% - Wanted Cardiff in the Premiership playing Blue - (Some wanted normal football not the money mad premiership!)

80% - Would prefer to see CCFC in the Premiership - Even if it meant playing in red

20% - Would prefer to see us playing in Blue - but in the lower leagues.

At the moment the 20% are shouting loudest because they want change. But it is a fact that you could never get a Campaign going to reflect the wishes of the 80% - because they simply would prefer to be in the Premiership albeit with some sacrifice.

A separate forum could be beneficial for two reasons.

(1) Those that do not want to discuss red-v-blue can avoid the discussions
(2) A separate forum could increase membership of the Bluebirds Unite Campaign

There is a simple answer to this. Don't open rebrand threads.

No single supporter wanted the red.
Some have accepted it.
Some have completely rejected it.
But we all support Cardiff city.
By creating a Red V Blue sub-forum would be highlighting the problem and divide even more.
We as fans need to come together and unite whether your Red or Blue.
Tan looks across and sees red section and blue section and animosity then he will force out the blue.
Tan looks across and sees blue and red overcoming the animosity and embracing that we are blue then it will send out a bigger message.

We can be great fans when we chose to be, we can also be horrible cnuts when we want.
If we want this club to be great, then we as fans need to be united not divided. :ayatollah:
