Congratulations Mr Davies

Sun Jun 09, 2013 10:13 am

A friend of mine has just graduated university, and after studying English, French and Welsh a job opportunity came up for Cardiff City, his job is to scour the French and Belgium leagues, look for players who tweet or interview saying they are out of contract or want to leave the club translate and then he passes the information on to the scouts who then go and scout the player he has mentioned.

There was one full time position and two were chosen for it, so both worked for free for the last couple of games of the season and when we got promoted they offered him a full time job, with a good starting wage and a free season ticket. I think we can say the guy has basically got a dream job, well done Callum, hopefully he plucks some wonder players out of the hat for us !

How do you think the football club translates information ?

Through translators, of course.

But translators wouldn't also be scouts. :laughing6: Scouts would do the scouting & the translators would translate between the two parties. :laughing6:

Using a translator but 'scouring twitter' really?

He is giving them information on players who are available or looking to leave, Twitter is now a massive social network which most footballers are using, ofcourse they will use that as a source. He will then pass a number of names onto the scouts, obviously they decide on who they think is good enough and then they go and watch the players they feel could make the grade.

So, unlike what you said in the opening post, he won't be scouring the leagues looking for talent! that's the scouts job.

Sounds like he's gone there as a translator, if he's even there at all.

I've never seen a football player use twitter to hint at a move though... :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6:

What are you on about you bell! He never said that. Don't care if its true or false but don't make stuff up about the kids post. He never said his mate would be scouring europe looking for players twitters, never said a thing that he would be scouting them himself
