Mark Schwarzer

Sat Jun 08, 2013 1:16 am

I don't get to watch many games but from what I have seen and heard Marshall has got over his problems dealing with crosses etc? In previous years he always made me a bit nervous in these situations but he seems well deserving of a shot at the prem as he is many peoples player of the season.

Would be very harsh on Marshall but would anyone rather have Schwarzer as he is off from Fulham? Getting on a bit but bags of prem and int experience.

No for the simple reason of age.
Marshall is considerably younger and I believe will be a huge premium hit.
Schwarzer we would have a year prob.

I think a decent back up keeper is needed, not sure of him because of his age, but he is very experienced like you said, maybe he could help Marshall along, and if needed he could step in and do a job, only concern is his age.

The reason he didnt re sign with fullam was he wasn't guaranteed starting GK. Don't think he will come here to be 2nd pick

I cant see him wanting to come as back up though, not at his age.

Marshall won us a lot of points last year and was outstanding. Marshall is premier league no doubt and coming into his prime, where as Schwarzer is past his best I'm afraid, and on his way down.

Marshall is definitely number 1 but I think we could definitely do with better than Lewis if Marshall is injured. Camp, Schwarzer and Mucha are all available on frees and would be better options if they are willing to accept being backup initially.

Marshall will no doubt be our number 1 next season. He was outstanding & how Kasper Schmeichel was chosen ahead of him in team of the year, I don't know...

No, Marshall has been outstanding last couple of seasons.
