Yeah to be fair Stan has Faced his demons live on air at times.
He doesn't deny them, he has beat his demons and took what made him weak to make him stronger.

Never been a huge fan of his but you cannot tell me one other professional who after doing what he has done to put himself on a national radio station on a daily basis to be called out for it?

Didn't he ones call us cheats, the season we got craig bellamy on loan? Fuk him, can't stand the prick. Deserves all the stick he gets. Hate the way he blames everything he got up2 on "depression" most of us suffer from depression at some stage in our lives, but not all of us use it as an excuse to go slapping women around, or turning up in random car parks to wank over some skank getting bashed by a bunch of strangers. You stick to your story stan. But I think your just a spoilt kunt who loses it when you can't get your own way

I have to say I was a Stan fan as a footballer and I am a Stan fan on the radio (his celebration of Beckham's goal is IMHO legendary  ) but I don't condone certain aspects of his behaviour off the field...

however, I don't think Stan is too proud of his actions either and (as you say) is honest and contrite enough to face up to it; even under sever provocation from faceless people on his 'live' radio show...

Let the guy get on with his life; his own conscience should be enough for him to contend with ;) :ayatollah:

I enjoy listening to him on talksport etc.

it doesnt mean I'm being selective -I just think he's good.

i think he's been open about his dark moods -

how many aren't?

Funny you should write that.

I now a guy (work only) - have dealt with him from time to time on a few jobs.
A funny guy - makes you feel at ease and he never seems down.

Recently he called me up to sort some stuff out for him as he started his own business.

I went there and put in a quality system for his company and was in the office with the main secretary (his misses) and showing her the ropes for them to get accredited to do the work.

He comes in late on - great - gentleman.

she explains some of the do's and dont's that i explained

Jesus

Chalk and fukin cheese - he was nasty as f**k.
every time she was trying to explain he just kicked off.

shocked me it did
the bigger shock to me was that -if someone said what i saw to me - i would have not believed them...

Yes indeed, fella. People are not always as they appear and I believe they often tend to take out their personal frustrations out on the 'easy' targets, e.g. wife, kids, junior work colleagues, faceless motorists they are unlikely ever to encounter face-to-face; and even fellow posters on this great MB :(

I studied a short psychology course called Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) as part of my role in work and in order to assist colleagues in the exceptionally stressful and upsetting situations they might find themselves whilst carrying out their jobs. The programme looked at how we might influence them to change their thoughts and behaviours and it was amazingly interesting...

I also looked at Cognitive Behaviour and I had my eyes absolutely opened wide with regard to what 'sets people off' and how they often 'bottle it up' until they can find a vent for their anger or hurt. Sometimes, it is so easy to sort if only people would 'talk' to someone who is prepared to listen and offer considered and honest advice...

Many (like the guy you refer to) don't have the courage to respond to the people who actually created the conditions for them to become distressed, so they take it out on those they see as 'easy' targets, who they believe won't fight back...

Some are gutless, whilst some are simply unable to 'express their feelings' and others fearful of what might happen to them (or their jobs) if they respond...

It's a very sad but complex field and one I would want to spend all my time in, but as you said, it is one that can and does affect the most surprising of people who usually butter wouldn't melt in their mouth :( :ayatollah:
