Darcy Blake

Fri Jun 07, 2013 10:41 am

I didn't really have much interest in the play-offs after we went up as Champions :malky: but it has occurred to me that Darcy Blake will now be part of a Premiership squad at C Palace.

How is he getting on there?

Don't think he has played much of a part at all.

Likes the booze to much.

Cant get nowhere near the team.

Holloway had a pop at his attitude after taking over from Freedman.

I love Darcy as much as the next Cardiff fan but I am stunned that a player with his limited attitude and ability is in a Premiership squad. At his best he could be quality but won't get anywhere with his current attitude. He's not getting any younger either. Needs to be very careful.

I doubet very much he will be at Palace after the summer, and certainly dont think he would make a 25 man PL squad.

started off well at palace at beginning of season playing most games up until Christmas but then struggled and I remember reading a quote from Holloway saying hes not even fit enough for reserves or it was chris coleman who said it, shame talented boy just no discipline.

It was Holloway who told Coleman after Coleman had phoned to ask after him.

There is a strong possibility he will be going to Yeovil.

There are many reasons why things haven't worked out for Darcey up in London
which aint my place to say on but for the record its f**k all to do with liking the beer
to much even though in the past I think even he would admit his lifestyle was out of control.

In my opinion you have to give him a bit of credit, he could have hung around and been a bit part player
but decided to make a move in order to hopefully progress his career and his life, anyone who thinks he was forced out
is way off.

It hasn't worked out in London but these things happen, hopefully he can find a club closer to home but far enough
away if you catch my drift and have a decent career, even if it means playing at a lower level.

The last sentence says it all without saying it all, if you can see what I mean ;)

Hardly 'worked out' for him in Cardiff either, did It? Two managers who ended up having the same view; with Malky having the balls to sort it out unlike DJ :(

Force out? Probably not, as he has a contract; but 'surplus to Premiership requirements' at Palarse? IMHO, yep! :ayatollah:

No idea how close you are to the man but somtimes things happen - good luck to the man wherever he ends up. Still remember the performance for Wales against England - on his day a decent player and could still be in the future :ayatollah:

Shame he didn't decide to get his head down and get himself sorted out when he was with us. Would have been nice to see a local lad like him playing in the premier league with his local club. I do believe that if he knuckled down and dedicated himself to the job, then he would have played a part in our first season in the premier league... He just hasn't got the mentality it takes by the looks of things

Even I agree, he loved a good drink anytime anyday.

In fairness, despite disliking his habits, I always said he was a good person to have on the bench; although IMHO defo not a Premier League player (regardless of the odd decent performance for the FAW XI ;) :ayatollah:
