No need for the stupid music in the background. Bellend of a video maker. Not making a Hollywood film.

Firstly I haven't watched the video so what do I know ?
Having worked in Turkey for a number of years I would like to make the following clear .....
All men in Turkey have to serve national service and the time is proportional to the "risk" associated with the posting.
Many are as a result trained in fire arms, though others will look after ordinance etc.
Gun laws allow business men to protect their property and own guns under regulation. They are allowed to "protect" their assets accordingly.
I would suggest that if I was a Turkish police officer faced with a large mob who to some part would have had training in firearms and possibly be in possession of a gun, id be a little fearful for my own life.
That's all.

Do you see any of the protesters with guns? Watch the video then make comment.
This was a peaceful protest in Gezi Park in Istanbul. The government want to bulldoze the park and put a shopping centre there. The people say they have enough shopping centres already.
The media were blocked from reporting this....no coverage on TV or newspapers. During the night the riot police came and set fire to the protesters tents, fired pressure hoses at them, pepper sprayed them and tear gassed them. Watch the police vehicle crash a barrier on the video....the person the other side of the barrier was killed. Several people were put into intensive care because they were hit by tear gas canisters and some have been permanently blinded.
The Turkish government did not want the news about this getting out. As well as the media blackout they stopped the metro, ferries and all roads to this area were blocked. Despite this thousands more have joined the protest. All around Turkey they are starting to hear about this and in other cities there are protests starting against the government.
I think this is just the start of a major unrest in Turkey. Won't be chancing any holidays there soon.

Do you really think this is about the redevelopment of a park? There is dumbing down and just plain dumb ......

I think it is quite hard to for us to have a pop at another countries police when ours are as bad.
If you can get killed just by walking past a police man, with your hands in your pockets, totally non threatening. AND the policeman gets away with it scot free, who the hell are we to look down at the actions of police in Turkey?

You are on about that guy standing on the street in London ,I don't think that copper meant to kill him but I agree that copper should've been punished.

There is a difference between a general opinion (yours) and information from an actual protester (mine). The park was just the last straw in a stream of government back-hander jobs. They are as corrupt as f**k....more than ours!
