Turkey -Riots but....

Wed Jun 05, 2013 12:07 am

We`re off to icelmar Turkey for a couple of weeks going 21st july-with all this protest, riots shit on tv missuss isnt all that happy about going, but rest of us are looking forward -all incluaive good reviews on trip advisor etc.
Wouldnt normally take an interest, but on the news so called rioters seem to be western type young people protesting peacefully initially about cutting down trees ??? then escaleted to protest about their goverment trying to impose islamic values-restrictions on alchohol sales etc seems to me a classic police overreaction .
Anyone just back from Turkey? your view of the current atmoshere there would be most welcome/

Tell your missus there's nothing to worry about in the resorts, I've got a house in Icmeler no trouble whatsoever out there. All the Turks ( and the Kurds ) out there are only interested in making money out of you. If you need any help with anything regarding Icmeler just get in touch. Which hotel are you staying in btw. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get some Turkish lire a bit sharpish since the riots the pound is very strong against the lira. You'll get a good rate at ramsdens ( not Harry's )

other than the advice above. If you or the misses are really worried about making your trip contact the foreign office for advice or see their website
