Only been going for a week too. All it needs is major outlets on Twitter or someone with a hell of a lot of followers to retweet and bam.

Have posted the link onto the Clydebank forum I use, hopefully pick up a few names!

You think Vincent Tan will see this petition? I'm all for this but I'm unsure whether Tan will even take notice.

I said in another thread I'd sign and support it in hope. No harm that can do. Still dont think it will achieve as Tan wont listen.

At least we know who this is now. Just couldn't stop yourself biting could you?

Looks like a lot of random fans are signing the petition, bit of an irrelevant and pointless petition now in my eyes

Re: Bluebirds Unite: Petition signatures standing at 3,926.

Mon Jun 03, 2013 9:21 pm

Why is it being touted to all fans of all clubs?

It has now been taken over as a petition against modern football just like the day at the castle was. Fans of other clubs don't care about the colour of our shirt but they do see it as representative of modern football.

You have Coventry fans signing it yet actually stating that they'd "love to have our problems" and they would "play in red if it meant they made the Premier League."

I signed it and it was gaining a bit of momentum. now it's being diluted.

I Would suggest that you send the club an email just to inform them of the high number of followers but with the shorts nightmare last week and us voting for a different pair.

This more than suggests the club does monitor sites like this one .

So if any body from CCFC is monitoring this or any other site open your eyes and understand we want are colours and badge back end of.

I applaud the effort, as I did with the get together. They always seem to get hijacked, with all good intent, but lose their effectiveness.

Re: Bluebirds Unite: Petition signatures standing at 3,926.

The clubs response to the petition would be this:

"We value the opinions of our supporters highly, as shown with the recent vote on shorts. However, as this petition is signed by a large contingent of non CCFC fans we feel it doesn't represent a fair reflection of our current fan base"

It's sad to say whilst gaining large numbers, the integrity of the petition is sliding. You have asked the club a question on the rebrand and given them the perfect escape.

IF, HOWEVER

A petition was only CCFC fans, verified by fan number, when presenting the petition to the club (Id assume media wales would be asked to attend) the media would ask the club for a statement........what possible escape could they have apart from "no comment at this time" thus pressure is already being
created in favour of Bluebirds unite.

It's actually one guy that said both statements. Many of the others are statements against modern football.

What the f**k do you want from people what is wrong with it if someone signs the petition from another club for what ever reason then who gives a shit like you could do better bollocks mate .

people like you piss me off your laughable all you want is glory so have it just leave the people alone who are willing to fight for this club dont mock it and its no joke mate i dont understand why you are slamming these people.

I haven't 'slammed' anyone. I have suggested that the affect of the petition is diluted by it not only being Cardiff fans and about the colour and badge.

I've signed the petition but then so has a Coventry fan who left the message "Sisu Out" do you think the club will consider his opinion?

nobody else is doing anything and there is going to be meaningless people signing it yes but come if you love the city and not just in the prem than it can only be a good thing unless of course you have a better idea,

some of us have been waiting months for someone to come forward and do something and good on em to .Dont shoot em down mate give em a fair chance we just might get somewhere with it but not with are own fans mocking it.Your gonna get dickheads on there ignore em and support it that what i am doing anyhow. :malky:

I think it's a good thing that fans from other clubs are signing it! In my opinion I think it makes the message stronger, if a foreign owner can walk into a club and strip it of its 100 years + identity, just because he likes a different colour and thinks the symbol on the badge is scared of other symbols ( have you heard anything so pathetic in your life?), surely something is wrong in the game for this to be aloud! Other fans signing the petition is proving that the rebrand is a uk football problem and not just a Cardiff city problem.

I agree 100% with you Craig and it's a pity more cannot understand the "Power" of a petition signed only by Cardiff City fans, imagine the power if the petition was signed by more than VT 25% who he has said would be acceptable to the club if the left. The replaceable customers if you like.

I really admire the energy that the people who started this BU movement have shown so far and I'm also sure they will get stronger as time goes on. But like any new organisation they will make mistakes, like the "Against Modern Football" banner which if you remember Steve Borley rubbished in a thread on this messageboard. Again on Sunday Steve Borley mentioned in a thread about being "careful" not to harm the club and asked if those who signed the petition really wanted to see the return of our "Mascot" - Bartley Bluebird a costumed character was the club mascot. It's simple mistakes like this which let's face it happen in the early days of any change movement.

Surely the core aim of BU is to see the club to return to it's traditional Blue/white playing strip and the "Bluebird" emblem returned to it's rightful place at the centre of the club crest. There is a huge difference between that and wanting Bartley Bluebird walking around the pitch. I don't think Steve Borley would so quickly comment on that.

Not having a go at BU they are doing a great job but, in my opinion, they should look to get more than 25% of our ST holders to sign a petition which is carefully worded to outline the primary aims of the movement, and more importantly what is the heart of the vast majority of Cardiff City Fans.

Spot on. BU have got too many people speaking on their behalf and its sending mixed messages.

I thought their ethos was they are not trying to drive Tan out, and it wasnt an "Against Modern Football" fight but posts on here, and messages on the petition are clouding the issue.

when the Wales Online poll regarding the rebrand was done, many Jacks voted in favour of losing us our identity and badge. Funny enough, the pro-reds still see this poll as the proof that the "blue dinosaurs" are a tiny minority...
