Did Anyone Who Sent The Club An EMail On The Shorts Choice

Sun Jun 02, 2013 8:43 am

actually get a reply. :?

I didn't and that despite sending a polite email which questioned why a club who claim an "All Inclusive Ethos" failed to offer an option for "Blue".

Surely an organisation which makes such a big claim about it's "Ethos" should have allowed room for those, like myself, who wanted at least the chance to vote "Blue".

It appears my opinion, values and passion for the colour "Blue" has no place in the "All Inclusive Ethos" at Cardiff City Football Club and after 48 years of following the Bluebirds that hurts more than anything else.

Obviously by ignoring my email the club has placed me in the 25% collateral damage of the rebrand, but I'm not going to let them do that to me.

Out of interest did anyone else who sent an email get a reply from the club.

NO Gary, I asked them where was the Blue option, I sent it to their 3 emails. If I am honest I never expected to have one as they only want to hear from Red lovers.

Annis I have tried to be pragmatic about this whole rebrand issue but the longer it has gone on the harder it has become to sit back and do nothing. I cannot hide from how I felt when our traditional kit was worn at Watford & Hull and I very much doubt if I'm alone in that.

On another thread this morning someone as suggested that we should ALL just enjoy summer and that the latest kit "debacle" is being blown out of proportion "Again". Well I agree we should be enjoying summer, I always do, but disagree that this whole kit thing is a debacle, to reach that level the club would have had to offer the "Blue" option then thier whole rebrandc would have collapsed into a complete and total failure, a rout, and that's the meaning of debacle.

I'm not going to allow the club to make ludicrous claims about "All Inclusive Ethos", which lets face it is nothing more than meaningless, valueless and contemptable marketing bollocks.

I'm a considered man and not one prone to flying off the handle but the club has really pissed me off with all this, and ignoring me is the last straw.

I am now a signed up member of "Bluebirds Unite" and I'm in the mood for a bit of passive protest which will involve asking fans who feel the same to send emails to the club, and keep sending them until we get an answer to why we were not offered Blue.

My granddaughter is a member of our local county swimming team and trains 4 nights a week, Tuesday is one of them, unfortunately I've promised to take her during the close season and I won't break that promise.

I have a few ideas which would I feel help this movement but unless it's a Thursday evening I won't be able to attend any meeting, but I will do my best to support where I can.

Right now I would love to fill the inbox of someone within the club asking why Blue was not offered, and keep on doing it until I get an honest answer. If and when I get an answer it will hopefully blow apart this "All Inclusive Ethos" as nothing more than shallow, insincere marketing bollocks. By then hopefully Mediawales, as they monitor socialmedia websites, will have got interested and start asking questions and if they do that will get picked up by other media organisations which may result in Tan getting a red face in his own backyard in Malaysia.

That's the way forward for me Carl, passive, polite protest with the aim of exposing the crass insincerity of our club. That's what I would suggest if I was at that meeting.

Would you be prepared to continue sending emails asking why Blue wasn't offered as an option. The club has made a claim in the kit launch that there is an "All Inclusive Ethos" at the club and in my opinion we should question that as how can there be when the club ignores our traditional colours.

club@cardiffcityfc.co.uk would be the address I would use please continue to send emails asking the question, keep them polite and include your name and fan number. also if you do ask why your previous emails have been ignored.

It will be interesting if the club does reply but everytime they fail to respond send another asking Why? you are being ignored by the club with the "All Inclusive Ethos".

Just remember to always keep the email polite. :D

I think thats a great idea. By sending in polite letters with fan numbers they can see how its affecting ccfc fans (they wont care about other clubs fans)

What address is everyone sending to? rather than use different addresses the same one should be used.

Well done Craig I'm suggesting we use club@cardiffcityfc.co.uk. Try and include the question Why was Blue not offered by the club when it claims to have an "All Inclusive Ethos".

Thanks for supporting me with this.

Once you voted, you got a "thank you for voting" etc message on the screen. What else do you want, fireworks, Malaysian dragons round your house? C'mon guys, this is being pedantic for the sake of it now

Well I didn't vote because my preferred option would have been "Blue" and that wasn't offered - Why?

I don't see that as being pedantic I just want to know how a club can claim to have an "All Inclusive Ethos" One City, One Club and One Community and then chooses to ignore a very significant group within the club.

Seems a reasonable question to me.

There is nothing wrong with asking a question. Nobody is shouting and screaming, nobody is banging fists on tables and demanding blue. It is merely asking a question whilst at the same time reminding the club that 99% of supporters would, given the choice want blue back.

One clear thing we can all do without affecting the team on the pitch is not to buy any merchandise from the club or anything in the stadium on matchday.

Hit the businessman where it hurts.

Perhaps he can re-think and launch his plan in smaller steps, keeping the stadium support with him.

Does he honestly think that chinese and malaysians will be rushing to the shops for city tops next season???
That takes years in prem and winning tropheys to do.

come on board ]
speak up for the fans

Interestingly - does anyone have info on how many kits are sold in the far east to teams such as Wigan, bolton, blackburn, wolves QPR, Reading etc?

Re: Did Anyone Who Sent The Club An EMail On The Shorts Choi

Well I've sent my email here is a copy.

Hello,

I am writing to inform you of my deep disappointment that there was no option to vote for the colour "Blue" in the poll that took place on next seasons shorts.

I am a longstanding ST holder of the club, in fact I have held a ST for the vast majority of my 48 years supporting the Bluebirds. When I read the article WEARECARDIFFCITY :2013/14 KIT VISUALS I was surprised to read a claim by the club that the kit launch was "Forming part of the All-Inclusive Ethos at the club.

I make no secret of the fact that I fully support the "Bluebirds Unite" movement which has recently been set up, a movement which now has a membership of over 2,000, making it a significant group within the Cardiff City family.

The literal meaning of Ethos is the "Character and fundemental values particular to a specific person, people, culture or movement. The fundemental principal of the "Bluebirds Unite" movement is respect for the traditional values and colours of our football club.

I find it extremely difficult to accept the clubs claim of having an "All-Inclusive Ethos" when, given an opportunity to show respect to a significant group within the Cardiff City family, the club ignored the opportunity and failed to offer a "Blue" option.

I would like to know why did the club decided to ignore the clear wishes of a significant group and how does that clear snub fit within this All-Inclusive Ethos the club claims it has in place.

Many Cardiff City fans currently believe our status within the club is no more than that of replaceable customers, unless of course we accept without question the erosion of our clubs traditional identity.

I would therefore be grateful if you could let me know if, after 48 years supporting the club, my status has been reduced to that of a replaceable customer because of my respect for our clubs traditional identity.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Let's see if I get a reply from the club.

To me it's pretty simple.....blue shorts were not an option, nor was pink, purple or paisley printed shorts.

So we voted for one of the options.....and then accepted the decision.

And that's the beauty of an All-Inclusive Ethos in that all opinions are welcomed and respected. If your happy with the way things are that's great and I'm pleased for you.

I'm sure you'll also respect my right to feel aggrieved that the option I wanted was not offered and I just want to know - Why?

Agreed it was always going to be a red playing strip but few could have realised it would be that hideous two tone red. Fair play to the club they got out of the smelly stuff by involving fans in chosing the colour of the shorts. Now the ballot has taken place the playing strip is decided and I agree we should not let it affect our support of MM and the players.

But when the club embellish announcements with nonsense like "Our All-Inclusive Ethos" I feel as fans we should question this clearly false statement.

We are one of 7 PL clubs with a red playing strip next season so what playing strip do you think our players will wear at Old Trafford, The Emirates etc. Blue? I'd like to think we would but despite this All-Inclusive Ethos I doubt the club has much appetite to do that.

I just want the club to live up to the claims it's making and respect our traditional colours and wear them in as many away matches as possible. And that could be as many as 15 games next season.
