purposely manipulate my fellow fans / CITY FAN

Below is the letter sent to Cardiff City, in reply to their recent invitation to vote for our teams color shorts. The main reason why I, and many other fans are angered, is because we were promised consultation in this pre-season about what our new badge would look like, and also on the kit. To only let us choose the color of the shorts is, as you can imagine, a bit of a piss-take.

In light of recent events, I feel the only way that I can vent my frustration with my club is to write to you personally. Half of my life has been spent supporting this club, but not once have I ever felt the need to write to it with a complaint. Which is quite surprising, really.



I’m 21 years old, and Cardiff City is a passion that I hold very dear to myself. Two days ago, our new kit was released with a horrendous two-tone design. I initially thought our media department had gone bonkers, but it turns out that this was, unfortunately, yet another ploy by the club. A very clever one, I must say.



Let me just tell you this: I have never, ever experienced this club purposely manipulate my fellow fans until Vincent Tan took over. To try and pretend that the two-tone design was a mistake, and wasn’t in fact a gimmick to force us to undignifyingly vote on our favourite color shorts, when you’ve already denied us a chance to vote on the color of the kit in the first place is a massive slap in the face. I am disgusted by this. Last season you promised that there would be correspondence with the fans on what badge we wanted, and what kit we would like. Unsurprisingly this never came to fruition.



The line has been drawn, and you have crossed it. We aren’t taking this anymore. We are not bending over and accepting Tan’s tyranny. We no longer need him. We are now the ones with the power. This was once a club for the fans, for the community of Cardiff. If there’s one thing I can guarantee, its that we won’t be playing in red for very much longer.



This is now a club designed as a play-toy for Vincent Tan and his little minions (Barry, Simon Lin etc).

Im quite capable of speaking on my behalf and dont want some weird 21 yr old doing it for me. If you are going to complain, complain yourself and not for others.
