IS IT TO LATE THEN? .... I SHOULD IMAGINE BLUE SHORTS AND SOCKS AND TAN WOULD EVEN SAVE MONEY ON NEW SEATS AND KEEP THOUSANDS OF FANS HAPPY!

I honestly think that blue shorts would have been an olive branch and a step in the right direction.

Tan has missed a golden opportunity to offer the olive branch yet again ! His contempt for all things Cardiff City & all things Welsh is tangible ! He is a hard -nosed & successful businessman & sadly I do not feel compromise is in his nature or vocabulary ! He solely , is responsible for the turmoil we find ourselves in once again ! Its high time we made a stand for what we believe in !

Contempt?? :? :o

What about the contempt you and others are showing him after he ploughed £100m to clear historical (and traditional  ) debt and took us to The Premier League

Seems to me that you lack far more words than 'compromise' and they appear to include words such as 'appreciation, gratitude, understanding (of our position before he came in) and flexibility ;)

You might argue in return that he (VT) lacks similar wording too but I would respond to that by simply asking "What would you genuinely do if you ploughed that money in and believed you could benefit financially in the money markets by being seen in a colour that (and it may be alien to us) is deemed 'lucky' and therefore 'marketable'? :?:

One or two on here appear to believe I am anti-blue. That is NOT the case. However, I am a realist and I can see where Tan is coming from even if I don't particularly want it to happen. It is called 'progression' and it is something OUR club has needed for many years. To my mind, if the price of progress is a change of shirt colour in order to gain from foreign investment then that, I admit, is fine by me

I would, however, fully support either of both the following:

1: Blue shorts (and maybe piping on the shirt) plus

2: A return of the Bluebird as a mainstay of the badge

Either (or preferably both) of these would be a VERY GOOD compromise from Tan and would show he is interested in what fans want whilst keeping his Far Eastern (red) plans intact ;)

But what I cannot support is a disgruntled group of maverick fans that don't have the 'future' interests of Cardiff City FC at heart and appear intent on alienating the very person (like him or loathe him) that has delivered on the dream; albeit in a slightly uncomfortable way ;) :ayatollah:

Good article Carl to be fair. You are right and I like the way you say that we should move forward with the red to be successfull but come to a compromise with the blue too to keep the tradition and keep the fans happy. Hopefully next season we will get some blue back and a tidy badge who knows :thumbup1:

Completely agree , I was actually shocked they didn't do that tbh , it was a perfect chance to build bridges with some fans and also Tan would still of had his top , I feel if they did do this , I don't think there would be a massive outcry now for blue shirts at home again (even though that's what I wanted ) , it would be seen by fans as the club were working with the fans and it would of been a perfect compromise

Re: CARL CURTIS " AN OPPORTUNITY MISSED "

If the club had any balls they should do another vote between black shorts and blue shorts to see what the fans really wanted as the shorts colour if we can't have the blue top at home :!:

There was no option of blue though, says it all when a club asks fans to pick a colour of SHORTS ffs and the only colours there are ones we have worn already last season or all red

I actually wrote a letter to Vincent Tan asking for him to re-consider turning parts of next year's kit blue; and if it cannot be done THIS year could he give a commitment for 2014/15 to appease disgruntled fans. I eagerly await his (or the club's) response ;)

What have YOU done 'for the cause' then, coco? :?

So, let me get this right, Certain people wanted the club to give We the fans a say in the kit colour but as it hasn't gone their way the vote was wrong. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Blue socks and shorts would have been nice but there we are so onwards and upwards.

Blue socks and shorts would have been nice but there we are so onwards and upwards.

The option the majority of City fans wanted was not included in the vote.

So yes you have got it right.

The vote involved the colour of the shorts ONLY. There were 4 colours to choose from but blue shorts was not one of them.

A lot of people complained and substained from voting as it did not involve the colour of the shirt. The worry is now the club will exploit this vote by claiming they gave the fans a choice of kit leaving the impression that we voted for the red shirt as well. That is what the article is all about.

further disgrace, Im a city fan and a ambassidor holder but Im afraid the club are alienating fans , consultation is nothig but toekenistic at worthless, sadly where was the Choice ,, No Choice RED RED... why not give free chaoice and see if the fans really wanted Blue .
I for one wanted to keep our traditional colour and allowing blue shorts would of been a gesture in right direction and good PR.

sadly city dont learn and i guess, issues will continue in to next season ,,, shameful

Contempt?? :?

But what I cannot support is a disgruntled group of maverick fans that don't have the 'future' interests of Cardiff City FC at heart and appear intent on alienating the very person (like him or loathe him) that has delivered on the dream; albeit in a slightly uncomfortable way ;) :ayatollah:[/quote

Completely agree with you Sven
