BLACK SHORTS WINS!

Fri May 31, 2013 4:28 pm

So its Black shorts next season and a Red shirt.
The votes have been tallied & verified, with the majority winner, as voted by season ticket holders, being black shorts for #CardiffCity

Edit~~~~~~
Cardiff City supporters have voted for the club's home kit to have black shorts next season.

After 12,000 season ticket holders were asked to choose their preference it was a return to the colour of the Bluebirds shorts last season that proved the most popular.

The vote was carried out after an outcry over the club's original choice revealed on Wednesday . Then the club had opted for a 'two tone' kit with the new shirt one shade of red whilst the shorts were an other.

Fans were almost entirely against the look and have now decided Malky Mackay's men will wear black shorts in the Premier League next season. The kit is being manufactured by Puma.

"From the votes received, the clear favourite was option four, with many of our voting Season Ticket holders opting to retain the black shorts from our memorable Championship winning season," said a club spokesman.

"It's a decision that Tan Sri Vincent Tan and all at the club fully supports, and we will next instruct Puma to work on supplying the shorts as soon as possible. Once again, we thank all supporters who took the time to vote."

Quite a quick poll to decide the colour of a Premier League teams shorts. Still better than the red.

So happy, felt like I couldn't go anymore when the black went, was considering giving up my season ticket(not really, but I'll still call everyone else sellouts) but glad that the tradition has been restored. #KCRAB worked :ayatollah:

At least its not that damn awful two tone.

Still dont like and wont wear red but its a very small pleasure that it looks bearable.

So the Black 'sheep' have voted for the exact same colour scheme as the rebrand

How embarrasing but expected.

Right, hopefully no more traditional pre season drama courtesy of our daft club. Lets start getting excited about signings etc..... :ayatollah:

Re: BLACK SHORTS WINS!

The problem with black shorts this year is that they've done away with the black stripe on the shirt so basically the black shorts matches with f**k all. Red, white or black....the kit is shit.

Roll on pre season so we can talk about football.

Am I the only one who's more concerned about what the away strip will look like???

Much better than those red shorts, the less red the better so I'll take it as a good thing.

I voted white but felt Black would win judging by responses on here and other places, just prayed that neither red would win.

I don't think this is over the club basically stuck 2 fingers up to us by not given us a blue option when they know full well what colours we wanted

a pity the shirt wasn't like this , if they were worried about Man Utd and Lpool comparisons

The black shorts were the worst clash of all the options. There's no tie in with the shirt at all.

At least the clubs choice was new and unique, but we all know how new and unique flies with parochial CCFC fans.

I despair that there is an uproar and then we pick the worst matching option of them all. This is why fans shouldn't be given power.

Its not about how it looks with the shirt. Its about getting our Championship winning traditional red and black kit back. We won a trophy in that kit scheme so we should all be happy with the outcome.

Imagine white shorts? Ridiculous. No history in red and white.
Imagine dark red? We may as well be called Lost & Found FC.
Imagine red? Liverpool B FC. No thanks.

So happy to get our own kit back. Just what we need for the Premier League.

Look how happy Fraizer is in red and black.

You still peddling this "traditional" and "own kit" cack. We all know what your doing.

Plus we DO have a history in white shorts and it DOES matter about how we look or we wouldn't had the furore over the ruby shorts.

Re: BLACK SHORTS WINS!

It was never going to change all a ploy to make fans think hes given something back over the rebrand when in real terms we are the same for now nothing like testing the water before next season kit release

What? Did we win the Championship in red and black? Yes
Will we ever return to blue under Tan? No
What is the best kit option under Tan from now on? red and black
Why? Because we have won something in it
Why does that matter? Because even though its not our blue, its still a colour scheme that will forever be associated with us because we've won a trophy in it
So why not another scheme under Tan? Because that would be akin to rebranding again and just another change on a whim. We should try and keep the changes to a minimum at all costs. The more we accept change. The less our argument that tradition means everything to us stands.

Plus we DO have a history in white shorts and it DOES matter about how we look or we wouldn't had the furore over the ruby shorts.

The white shorts proposed were white and red trim. Not our traditional shorts. Polo pointed this out earlier. We are now wearing a kit scheme we won the Championship in and im proud of that. Would I rather be back in blue? Yes. Every Cardiff fan would but its not happening. Some fans are thick as shit if they think Tan is going change his mind. Hes a dictating billionaire for a reason, because hes shrewd, unforgiving and does what he wants whether it upsets people or not.

and that is all she wrote.

Jon stop peddling this anti rebrand shit mate. You cant claim to hate the rebrand when you're willing to buy one of Tans rebrand kits and support his vision. You may think you are not but you're just kidding yourself. Anyone who buys the merchandise, red or blue or yellow or pink in the females section is supporting the rebrand. They can claim they aint but they are and thats that.

TLG dont buy it. Plenty of others dont buy it. They dont support the rebrand. You do. You're not fooling anyone sunshine.
