" Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

Fri May 31, 2013 7:53 am

Even if you wanted to vote on the colour of the shorts thousands could not.

In my opinion it's a complete farce.

I have 4 Season tickets in my family. I only got one vote, I sent them an email asking for the Blue Shorts.

But if you wanted it to be a fair vote it was never going to be.

My Wife who the club have her email never received an email, neither did I receive the votes for my children.

I have since found out that even though we have 20,000 plus season ticket holders/Prenier seats etc no more than about 12,000 will be able to vote.

Please do not tell me that behind the scenes this club is going forward, because I 100% Believe it is not.

Same here 3 in my family, because we are all on my email address only 1 vote

They are the truth and the club are the ones who are looking and acting like idiots, Please show me what I have said that is not true?

They should poll every ST holder. No reason why they cant.

Dont agree with club not moving forward though. We are 109 times better than we were, just fan consultation is not doing well to say the least

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

Fri May 31, 2013 8:04 am

Same for me and william
1 vote instead of 2
Does the club know what there doing
They obviously dont understand how there system works
Surley some one could realise they got 20k season ticket holders but only e mailed about 12k
The word inept keeps comìng to mind with anything to do with our club

On the pitch they have 100% Craig, off sorry I totally disagree with you.

As I understand it, the club have e-mailed all season ticket holders that have an e-mail address registered. As my wife's season ticket was booked at the same time as mine online, only my e-mail address was needed, which means she doesn't get a vote either.

Do you think that the club needed to give anyone a vote if they didn't want to ?

You have already said in a previous thread accusing the club of getting us to vote on their rebrand and now your having a whinge because you can't vote on a colour your not happy with.

I am showing that half the fans can not vote if they wanted too, prove me wrong please?

So what's the point of the vote as its not allowed everyone to vote true or not, please answer?

Or do you not like to admit when your wrong?

Also where is the vote on the Blue? II know your not bothered but I am.

I didn't get an email at all!!!

How is a season ticket holder not on the 'email database' ? I seem to get all the other emails ok......

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

Fri May 31, 2013 8:23 am

I never even received an email  I would off said blue only

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

Fri May 31, 2013 8:27 am

I'm not a season ticket holder however i think that everyone on the email database with a record of purchasing tickets etc should have been given a chance!

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

Fri May 31, 2013 8:31 am

My five year old doesn't have an email address but I'm not sure I trust him to vote sensibly anyway. He'd probably pick the dark red

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

Fri May 31, 2013 8:36 am

In a perfect world every season ticket holder would get a vote, that's not disputed. But playing devil's advocate I assume that the club would argue that to do that via Email (the fastest and cheapest option) logistically that was not possible.

The reason for that has already been uncovered in that households with multiple season ticket holders might only have one registered Email address meaning that as many as 3 season ticket holders per household would-not get an individual vote.

I suppose the answer there is to have a mini-household pole and vote for the majority view.

I absolutely agree that is not a very satisfactory resolution but from the clubs point of view they are probably under time constraints and need an answer ASP so that the kit can go into full production.

The lesson from this (which should have been obvious from last season fiasco) is to put options to the supporters with plenty of time for them to individually vote. I would suggest that should be before the last home league game of the season with voting vouchers published in the programme or online.

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

Fri May 31, 2013 8:38 am

cant we all just stop acting so spoilt about EVERYTHING and be grateful the club are even trying to give us a vote?

You all moaned when we turned red the club didnt give us a vote etc like on the badge, now they are attempting to do things a bit different and showing signs of learning from the original mistakes and we still moan. I mean the club has time restraints to get the kit decision made so email is the quickest way and since not everyone uses or has access to email and other reasons this is the best at this current time.

i mean f**k me what happens when we start losing games next year, i dread to think

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

My mate had one and he didnt renew so is no longer a season ticket holder :?

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

There's no conspiracy theory here.

Season Ticket holders have the ability to accept mailing drops or not. My wife and daughter have NEVER unsubscribed from the mail shot so get them all the time and just delete them. I, on the other hand, unsubscribed a year ago.

I therefore did not have an email and my pair did.

It said right at the beginning that the emails would go out to season ticket holders WITH A REGISTERED EMAIL.

This cannot go on and on and on. Had the club contacted all ST holders it would have taken physical letters to addresses, why the expense in both time and cash when you can get just as good a representation from 12,000 emails.

We know the club are not in sync with the fans, but come on, sometimes we want the moon on a stick.

The club has to draw the line somewhere and I think taking a pole of season ticket holders is the right thing to do.

It is similar to when Cup Final tickets are issued and we get all and sundry coming out of the woodwork and claiming they are a special case for dispensation.

Every February I fork out £300+ up front for something I'm not going to use for 6 months and I won't get the full benefit of for another 9 months by which time I would have purchased another season ticket and the cycle continues. Also I am buying without the knowledge of what will happen during the season promotion/relegation/administration or change of ownership.

That commitments has to be recognised by the club and is a commitment well above picking and choosing games on a cherry picking basis.

Therefore Season Ticket Holders rightly get the vote.

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

Fri May 31, 2013 8:50 am

The opportunity to vote if there is more than 1 ST per household is there, even if you only have 1 email, as each vote has have a name and fan number included with it.

Having said that the failure of the club to offer "Blue" as an option in my opinion invalidates the poll. Remember at the time of the rebrand we were promised a "Fans Forum" to discuss the design of future playing strips and of course the badge. That never happened, why? Because in my opinion the club know full well "Blue" would have been included in all designs, maybe not as the primary colour, but it would have been included and the dragon which done such an excellent job of protecting the Bluebird last season would have gone.

This would have been a good opportunity for the club to practice what it preaches i.e. it's claim of an ALL INCLUSIVE ETHOS, but the powers that be know full well any option of "Blue" would have won massive support.

But the ETHOS of our club is much like Henry Ford and his colour choice for his Model T, but for Cardiff City fans the poll says you can have any colour you want except "Blue".

ALL INCLUSIVE - MY ARSE.

I agree that there was no way of contacting enough season ticket holders in such a short time other than by email and we should be grateful the club have made the effort.

However, if this is a true 'we will listen to you' exercise then they should be planning a better and more inclusive survey for future kit releases.

Don't agree , I know quite a few people who go to EVERY home game and a few away and have done for years but only work part time or get paid weekly who pay on the day . They can't afford to sign into a contract for a season ticket or have fines for direct debits bouncing if there wages don't go in on time so have to pay as you go as such . Does that make them less of a fan than you ? Some of these boys have done this for years and years .
There should be a loyalty card for fans who can't take the season ticket route with there picture on that gets swiped every time they buy a ticket . This should count as a season ticket and get the same perks .

then you should have had two votes.
annis is right, its just a token gesture by the club not thought out properly and probably planned all along.

Statistically 12,000 is a pretty big sample size and should indicate the most favoured choice among the options given.

I also would of preferred blue but like I said the club didn't even have to give us a choice. I might be wrong but I can't recall any other club letting their fans vote on any part of their kit. I'm sure someone will tell me other wise.

You say I'm not bothered , but I was angered by the two tone shorts and certainly sore red. :)

With regards to voting that is incorrect. It does ask for your name, fan number etc. However after the first vote if you/(other ST Holder) tries to vote it does not allow you to do so by saying something like your vote has already been cast. 1 EMail address - 1 vote regardless of the number of ST holders in the address.

:ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

All very true Gary and I don't argue with the logic. But at the time of the rebrand we gave up blue as our primary colour in exchange for a £100m investment on infrastructure projects and team strengthening.

So can we now moan about not having a blue option? I personally don't think we can although I think we can certainly have an input on the badge and away kit.

So a fans forum could certainly make a positive contribution on those matters and it is frustrating that never happened.

Re: " Even if you wanted to Vote/Thousands couldn't "

Fri May 31, 2013 9:04 am

12,000 is more than enough to get a representative view. Election exit polls are generally taken on a sample of 1000 which gives a margin of error of a couple of percentage points either way. So 12,000 out of 20,000 is a more than 50% sample which would give a very accurate result. Stop moaning. Why should season ticket holders only get a vote anyway?

Doncaster , chesterfield and Shrewsbury have done it this year .
Birmingham did it 2/3 years ago if I remember right .
Chesterfield voted for our kit

These are the new Chesterfield kits 2013/14, the new home and away playing uniforms for League Two sides Chesterfield FC for the 2013/2014 season. These new Chesterfield FC shirts have been made by Puma and were revealed on April 23, 2013, with voting done by the club’s fans.

The new kits don’t have any sponsor yet, as can be seen in the pics below. First up is the home shirt, which is pretty much the same design as the newly released 13/14 Wolverhampton kit ( also made by Puma). Below that is the new away kit for the Spireites, who at the time of writing, are still with a shout of making it
