If the rebrand had happened when the club was in a more financially sound position things may have been different, I guess we will never know

And now? Is it still red or dead? Or will the vast PL windfall finally strengthen the fans position?

They've never been out of the top flight and in the 80s and 90s when hey were winning titles and European trophies in front of 50,000 we were lucky to average more than 4,000
The majority of Cardiff City fans first saw us in the cup final 2008. It would be impossible to get 20,000 people here to sign a petition like they did
There's a long list on why you can't compare the two. We're a progressive club that one day could compete with them, but anyone who compares our situation to theirs is naive

Bang on mate.
I can fully understand people not wanting to give up their football fix but not one single item of red gear should have been sold.
The fact that so much red has been shifted is the real embarrassment.City 'fans' willingly taken part in the destruction of their own clubs identity.

very true
Our hard core of 'historic' loyal/timeserved fans are around a quarter of the current home gate now.
most of us went in the 80s/90s for the craic and the bother!!
we could never mass ranks like everton against a club decision in unison.
this is what other teams fans fail to understand why we havent played up about the rebrand etc in large numbers

We lost our whole identity but there was no up in arms there was not even a boycott of the Red but a total acceptance and embracement of the new kit. But there is now "a see the club is listening and consulting with the fans" Bullshit on what colour shorts we will wear !! Black, Red, A different shade of red, white,No the Club are playing our fans for fools and we jump straight in.
They can now officially say they consult the fans cant they![]()

Herein lies the problem mate. I've stuck around the same as you but I respect those who decided to quit. I know exactly where they're coming from, but my tipping point is a bit more tolerant. Hats off to the Bluebirds unite but until Tan leaves, then I can't see us getting our rightful colours back yet. For those who still go but hate the rebrand(the majority)then next season wearing the blue, flags, songs etc will be as important a protest as moaning about red on a message board

Yeah good of you to lead by example and buy another season ticket, that will show him!
Show a little respect to the people who have not rolled over and have actually done something rather than complaining behind a keyboard all day. Speak for yourself in future not everyone else.

I'am all for a protest to return to blue, but who was worst for the club overall ridsdale or tan?

Nope I'm fully in support of the club and grateful for what Tan has done, sure I'd rather play in blue but the red is not that bad. Much like you must be if you still have a season ticket, giving him the support and money. Sorry but I find it embarrassing how you sit here speaking on behalf of all fans with your season ticket in your back pocket, rather than complaining why don't you lead by example and actually protest? I don't see how it is fair for you to portray yourself as big against the red and then use the inclusive 'we', which I assume is for all fans, therefore slagging off the people who have actually done something worthwhile to protest. But I'm sure they are truly grateful for you 'keeping the Blue alive at games', because that isn't an excuse to give him money is it?
