I really can't see how Hughes will improve them or produce better results than Pullis.

I wouldn't bet against a top 10 finish for Stoke next season, Hughes managed it with two similar sized clubs in Blackburn & Fulham.
If Malkay had left City I wouldn't have minded seeing Hughes take the reigns here.

Pre 04 - Only Wales Manager to get us close to qualifying for anything in last 20 years! Agreed, was good for Wales but Terry Yorath also got us close
2004-05 - took over at Blackburn in September when they were in relegation trouble. Finished 15th with 42 points. Agreed
2005-06 - First full season at Blackburn. Finished 6th with 63 points. Qualified for UEFA Cup. Agreed
2006-07 - Blackburn. Finished 10th with 52 points. Start of his downfall
2007-08 - Blackburn. Finished 7th with 58 points. poor Premier League that season
2008-09 - First full season with Man City. Finished 10th with 50 points. went there for the money and failed
2009-10 - Sacked by Man City in December with team lying in top four. exactly, was sacked
2010-11 - First and only season with Fulham. Finished 8th with 49 points. Qualified for Europa League through fair play. Inherited a team once again and was lucky
2011-12 - Took over QPR in January with team 17th. Finished 17th with 37 points. Had very good individual players that were his signings and couldn't motivate them to play as a team
2012-13 - Sacked from QPR in November with team bottom of league. I rest my case![]()
I wouldn't want Hughes anywhere near our club but I would have him back as Wales boss over that other idiot Coleman.
Deluded? I don't think so.

Yorath was 1993 wasn't it so that makes him closest in last 20 years
But fair enough points except 2007/08 wasn't a poor PL season, just had a very poor Derby County. In 07/08 we had 3 champions league semi finalists and both finalists!
