Fan Unity Derailed AGAIN By The Maniacal Few.

Thu May 30, 2013 6:35 am

With the, near, universal outcry about the poor kit that has been produced, we get an opportunity to unite as fans and go to task with the clubs board and owners. However, once again any sort of unity is blown apart by the minority who insist on taking an extreme stance which turns 'new' protestors away from the cause.

With the club having an inability to see ANYTHING from the fans point of view, every now and again there is a chink in their armour and a battle comes on the horizon that we COULD win. It happened with the return of the Bluebird and it has come about again with the potential removal of the ruby red shorts.

The usual suspects assemble to complain, look for a compromise and get some consultation. Then sometimes, as in this case, the silent majority are motivated enough to join in. What comes next is the kick in the teeth as the maniacal few derail every thread or attempt at consultation with their incessant, ill judged attempts, to win a war with one shot.

We are NOT returning to blue until the current board and owner move on, which they invariably will. Can we leave this battle for then.

The answer to the question; "Do we press for a change of the shorts?" is NOT I want blue, give me a blue kit, blue this, blue that. Certain people's inability to identify potential gain is, for want of a better word, demoralising. It also undermines sensible arguments as the club just see us as an irrational group. Fans who were willing to protest turn away as they don't want their views tainted by over enthusiastic fans who refuse to see the wood for the trees.

We will get a blue home shirt back some day, but until then can we keep the rhetoric at a level that means all fans are united behind a cause that we can win. Get the shorts changed and we should shout from the rooftops that fan power won over. Added to the Bluebird returning I'd say we've been pretty successful when the arguments are sensible and strong.

Now for some work.

Seen some erratic behaviour in the last 24 hours. Especially on here.

Fans want to see their team in their rightful colour shock.

The line was crossed with the rebranding not a kit design.

True. This is a great chance to get some blue on our kit through the shorts.

Barry, if you really want blue back then encourage those who share that view to go about it the right way.

This was an opertunity for fans to improve the design of the red home kit. Perhaps others steps could have been taken in the right direction like playing in Blue away.
