Embarresment

Thu Nov 26, 2009 12:15 pm

The way our club is being run is an embarrassment. Blackpool, Swansea shite,Watford are all doing as good as us whilst not paying stupid money on wages. We sold Purse,Parry and Johnson in the summer and not only received millions but also took 3 top earners off the wage bill...they were replaced by people who in theory must be on lower wages...or are they? We are losing money daily, it just seems to be haemoraging out of our club....despite the fact that we have received tens of millions in transfers since Ridsdale took over, huge TV income, the FA Cup final and the riches that come with that cup run...best attendances for decades and record season ticket sales this season...HOW ARE WE SKINT BY NOVEMBER?

Embarressing for the fans that we do not have a pot to piss in never mind affording the luxury of a loan player to help us through til January...We are asked to pay for a season ticket at the end of October...2 months into a new season???????? Asked to pay to keep our academy going whilst the club see fit to pay wages for another director, pay the Chairman bonuses and outrageous salary and employ a new press officer, stadium manager, ticket office supervisor, three shop managers etc etc.

Our chairman has always said he deals with players wages etc...well he is over paying them and he must take responsibility for that.He still has many fans defending him...its fecking mad, but I can understand that I did the same with Sam H...sometimes you just can't see what is staring you in the face.

He will say that he has got the stadium built...I would say that was Paul Guy and the consortium of money men who wanted huge profits off a retail development....he will say Hamman is the reason we are in the shit...I would say we have not paid the bloke a cockle since he left apart from £80,000 so where is the money gone???????????? No doubting the debt left by Hammam has been a concern and if we had been paying it back at say £1 million a season I could understand that it was a reason why we are financially struggling.

Great to see a new investor but lets not get too excited yet, I want to see this new lot take 51% of the shares and get rid of the expensive current incumbants and start running our club properly...yes we need to speculate to accummalate but lets not be in a position where we have to sell our best players every transfer window just to tread water.

Are we going to see better financial stability at our club? Well if the same people are allowed to manage and administer things then I won't hold my breath.

Great post and fully agree - total embarassment.

Re: Embarresment

Quality post - and I also fully agree.

I just want to support this club - and of course I do 100%. But knowing that money paid into the club will be wasted by our chairman is dis-heartening. I'm a student who can't make every match (i.e. I'm not a ST holder) hence I pick and choose matches. But at the moment I just can't help but feel that any payments to the club just disappears into a blackhole - instead of going into useful/meaningful things.

Ah well, long after PR et al are gone we'll still be here.

Paul
how many times have we been through this converation at the football
It seems at last though that you are all seeing through prs bullshit and smooth talking.
We can now all see that the platinum ambassador garbage was just a panic stricken excercise to get monies in to pay the revenue.
I can assure you that if a payment plan had been agreed prior to yesterday the club would not have appeared on the court lists.
The deal was done at the twelth hour yesterday in my opinion.
But after all this i will bet that come the meeting he will still have the majority of you eating out of his hand again.
I wonder how TLG feels now after writing his Cris what Crisis blog the information was obviously provided by PR to quell the unrest.

On the pitch I think the players have already shown why we won'y be going up this year. It came to light tragically (for us supporters) with the last 3 games of last season and continues this year every time we get an important match (Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Swansea).

So if we're not going up how about putting the club into administration...now.

Lose the debts, lose some players, Lose directors, possibly stay up. But even if we went down this time next year we will have a club that can move forward without it's directors being able to constantly shrug off a lack of ambition by hiding behind an "inherited" debt etc.

The club has earned millions in revenue over the last few years and we are still hampered by lack of finances.

Steve, you can't blame fans for listening to what the chairman says...he is very convincing but hopefully more and more will start stopping giving him the benefit of the doubt...All my mates and probably everyone who will turn up to the meeting Monday...all want things to be good for our club so its better to hear good things and accept them...We are fans and we want our club to prosper, we are not in it to make money we are in it because we love our club...that is the difference.

If you give a politician a stage or audience he shall speak, one better, not to give one a stage or audience and one can not ply his trade.

Yes where has all the millions gone. The debt has never reduced. How can that be? I think we are being robbed. The problem is we are all stupid enough to keep putting our money into a bottomless pit. Its our blind love of Cardiff that is our religion. Its just sad to see the money men ripping us off and the club we love.

great post i think finally a lot of people are seeing the real picture.Yes we have progressed dramatically in the last 5yrs and yes we have our new stadium which is superb,BUT i just feel its the same old city and any news that we hear i cant help but feel very cynical about it.At least in the days in the football league basement we knew we were bloody skint and we fans accepted it.43 yrs of following my beloved bluebirds through thick and thin and yet at this moment i feel no different to when Tony clemo was in charge.Until the present regime go i dont feel we will move on as a club.

PR is brilliant at telling people what they want to hear and would make a brilliant politician.I asked him at the Brunswick what our breakeven figure was and he stated it was around 18,000 but didn't have the exact figure  Our average crowd is over 20,000 but still we fail to pay the Inland Revenue the one debt you have to settle. If PR brings on board real investment from Malaysia then maybe he would justify is ridiculous salary and bonuses. Personally although i have met him a couple of times i just don't trust him and never have from day 1 but i sincerely hope i'm wrong about him only time (Maybe the next 70 days) will tell?

A view posted in 2009, and now we're spending 7+ million on one player who will wear red in the premiership - views on a postcard

You really Gould have better things to do on a Friday night.

As for the topic it's non comparable. Tan is a multimillionaire/Billionaire backing the club (albeit to the tune of 7%) with a minimum of something like £65 million coming into the club even if we get relegated. It's not like he's selling land around the stadium to keep us afloat for 30 days then buying a player is it?

I was excited when they came in but had my reservations. All new people have new ideas. Never imagined they would do this though.
