On the pitch we have gone forward, but off the pitch We are

Wed May 29, 2013 4:59 pm

We are still not professional.

In 2012

Tans advisors are not honest to him and don't seem to know how to advice him when it comes to our football Club, I honestly believe these advisors come from within our club.

The Rebrand in the first place was done very unprofessional and then leaked, then a badge was hastily done, club apologised said we will consult with fans, redisgn ect etc. Out Come, nothing happened.

In 2013

Our club then does another pathetic new kit, the same beer mat badge.

Who ever is responsible for all this, I strongly recommend you resign.

Well Done on this

The re-brand is the only thing that hasn't be done professionaly, I feel everything else has, it's a shame negativity is back amongst fans

its appalling annis ,and tan is to blame, hecaused a rift between fans with the rebrand so the simple thing to do is ask the fan what he likes ,maybe put 3-4 kits on the website and let the fans choose what they prefer as they are the ones that buy it ,if you put shit out like this thing is no one will, ill bet more people but the 2 away kits than buy the red ones this year.

Tan is ultimately responsible. Lets just hope he gets his investment back and goes soon. Premiership football is just not worth this pathetic circus.

Yes but sadly the rebrand is the main part of our club, true or not ? Let's not bury heads in the sand no more and lets be honest.

All looks like the work of VT and his Malaysian cronies to me, who have not got a clue about marketing or design according to Western tastes and standards. For fear of sounding rascist, it looks like cheap Asian tat.

Re: On the pitch we have gone forward, but off the pitch We

Wed May 29, 2013 5:10 pm

The kit is horrific, its just absolutely disgusting.

But why has this all of a sudden thrown people into "get Tan out" !?

We knew the kit would be red
We knew almost everyone would oppose it

yet we still renew our season tickets to support Cardiff City.

The design of the new kit shouldn't be bringing the debate into question for people. The loss of identity should,
don't make a u-turn because of how a kit looks!!

The only way to battle this is to minimise the profits made on the kit. Everyone needs to get into a blue shirt and sing louder than they ever have before, week in, week out.

If Tan leaves now.... We have a premier league team with history and success, SOMEONE will want to buy our club

But what annoys me is these new "KCB" people who have appeared today because of the crappy design.

I'm not putting myself into any brackets here. Just making a statement.

We all want to be blue, we all accepted that the rebrand was happening and decided to support our team.
Make a choice, and stick by it!

Re: On the pitch we have gone forward, but off the pitch We

Wed May 29, 2013 5:11 pm

The common sense thing to do would have been to consult the fans about the kit after all its the fans who are going to buy it or in this case not.but who cares about the fans?

Exactly, I can't help but think if done more professionaly more fans would have embraced it, more co-operation and not leaving fans in the dark could make it more acceptable

Annis i reluctantly accepted the rebrand in hope that there was a serious plan to take Cardiff city forward by making us a big brand in asia etc whilst securing our long term future..
I have never been one to wear team colours much and hardly ever buy merchandise from the club shop i have tolerated the red up to now but seeing our kit for next season has left me disgusted. It's awful i think it's possibly one of the worse kits i have ever seen anyone wear not just us..
Whoever gave the ok to that doesn't need sacking they need shooting..

Re: On the pitch we have gone forward, but off the pitch We

Wed May 29, 2013 5:20 pm

Its truly embarrassing the kit I was expecting the red kit but 2 shades of red ! the kit template is designed for 2 colours . The club should of stuck with the colours from last year and had black on the collar (like Dortmunds kit ,same template) or better yet had blue collar and blue shorts(like Spain) , this would of built some bridges with the fans and no other team in the prem has that kit (red top , blue shorts)

The club infrastructure through the development, academy, and the general day to day running of the club is premier league

Their PR with the fans is little short of local league

f*cking shocking

Sadly I totally agree with the above post, I would rather be back in any league and have the old Cardiff back than this bullshit.

Totally agree with you LB....but a lot of our fans love that cheap tat.
The club shop was packed with fans queuing up devouring all the little trinkets and bad quality shirts and jackets.

The stock in our shop including the football shirts makes asda across the car park look like Gucci.

Re: On the pitch we have gone forward, but off the pitch We

Wed May 29, 2013 5:57 pm

The shirt is what we all expected surely, probably better than last years in my opinion, but the shorts are dreadful. We all knew they would be red and many fans were predicting we would end up looking like Liverpool as a result, so perhaps some clever so and so decided lets make them a different shade. Trouble is the two shades look rank together and considering how important it was to get this strip right then someone somewhere needs to be shot.

We all know from Tan's dress sense that fashion is not his strong point so to put the blame for this entirely on his shoulders and demanding that he go is simply ridiculous but considering how successful this guy is, you would have thought he would have learnt after last years badge fiasco that we the public need to be consulted if sales are to be maximized. But then again shirt manufacturers such as Puma do seem to have significant control over designs so maybe Tan's influence over such matters is somewhat limited. Maybe next year when the Puma contract comes to an end we can have a say in both badge and kit designs

I agree. After all of the anguish over the rebrand the best approach would have been to publish 3 or 4 red designs (on the basis that we were going to be red) and invite the fans to vote.

But now another backlash has come from a group of fans, this would have been avoided with consultation.

Re: On the pitch we have gone forward, but off the pitch We

Wed May 29, 2013 6:15 pm

This looks the result of VT being surrounded by 'Yes' men. The badge is awful. The new kit is just as bad. We've made step-changes to the club of which no-one can argue is not PL level. But this I honestly cannot understand. A parks football team wouldn't choose this. I can't and never will accept or get use to us in red. But this kit and badge design? Who the hell is advising VT on this, as if VT is honestly relying on their informed councel, he's chosen the wrong person. Major rethink VT - we are so much better than these awful designs.

Annis I honestly believe that as fans our club values us as no more than replaceable customers and that attitude comes directly from VT.

We ALL knew that next seasons kit was going to be all red but few of us could have imagined it could look so bad, in my opinion it is truely hideous.

But for me I accepted a longtime ago that there was little we could do about the red shirts but the thing that is turning my stomach is the "Marketing" campaign behind this kit launch. This "WEARECARDIFFCITY" I'm convinced will become the cornerstone of next seasons marketing with it appearing on ST cards, matchday programmes, the official website and any other marketing communication.

Behind this vile campaign is the statement about the "All Inclusive Ethos" of the club and that in my opinion is a fabrication, a misreprsentation of reality and nothing more than a barefaced lie. I will not buy anything which has this slogan behind it and whoever thought it up should resign or better be sacked.

Be in absolutely no doubt that there is no "All Inclusive Ethos" in what's left of our club it's put up, shut up or f**k off that's the ethos of VT Cardiff City.

You rightly pointed out that last year we were promised consultation over playing strips, albiet red would be the primary colour, also the badge design would form part of a "Fans Forum" which would provide a basis of consultation for the club. What did we get :? nothing sweet f**k all and now some insincere tw*t within our club is running a marketing campaign based on the all inclusive ethos. BOLLOCKS.

I'm going to send an email to Julian Jenkins telling him I don't want a ST card with any reference to "WEARECARDIFFCITY" and everything it stands for, the insincerity, the misrepresentation and of course the lie.

I'm f**king fuming about this culture which is running throughout our club, it's administrative management, board and owners. The f**k off if you don't like it attitude it makes me sick.

Not a cheap shot at all. Fans leaders are good for travel and helping out Fans in trouble i will admit that. But as for representing us as one voice is a no no. They represent only there own views but that is my opinion and have said that before to both Carl and Annis.

I have had a guts full of this now. Its one thing after another, I am so looking forward to seeing my team play Premier League football, but its just so tainted by this mans bizzare, tasteless, un-negotiable, ignorant, disrepectful dictatorship. I AM grateful for his money and what its done for us, but by patience is threadbare now. What a cock-up again. Match of The Day in a colour run washed out 2 tone kit with a Valleys Darts League patch as a badge. Part of me wants him gone, blue comes back, we make a fight for it. Come on Vincent listen and learn.
