After winning promotion to the Premier League for the first time, Cardiff City will want to look the part.
But the new vivid red home strip unveiled by kit makers Puma today has been roundly panned by fans.
Bafflingly, the shorts are a different shade of red to the shirt and socks, and Bluebirds fans took to Twitter to label it 'shocking,' 'atrocious' and 'hideous' within moments of the launch.

Others went further, calling it 'the worst kit in the history of the club'.
In the release email, Puma wrote: 'We have decided to maximise on the Puma King design and adopt a two-tone red home kit this season, helping us stand out in the Premier League crowd.
'The two Puma King stripes reflect the fans loyalty to the club, which is appreciated by all.'
The club's first choice colour was changed from the traditional blue to red at the behest of the club's Malaysian owners last summer, amid a storm of controversy.
The new home kit goes on sale on May 31.

It's called grasping at straws.

What a dreadful design! I'm utterly speechless.

Puma should be banned from ever designing another kit again. The sooner our club dump them the better. I know our club most probably have the final say, but how bad must the other designs have been, if we chose that one

Looks like they grabbed random bits out of the leftover kit bag.

The kit is one thing but the "WEARECARDIFFCITY" marketing campaign designed around the All Inclusive Ethos of our club is bollocks.


I say let's put 2 fingers up to that campaign and not buy anything associated with it, be it playing strips, match day programmes or whatever.

Some bollox they made up to try and justify the cheap looking hideous trash they've lumbered us with.

If they want to show loyalty to our fans then give us our blue kit back or at least lets have the black shorts!!
