A MESSAGE TO CARDIFF FANS FROM THEIR CLUB OFFICIALS

Tue May 28, 2013 7:10 pm

The Everton statement to their fans is what should have to us.a full consultation should have happened to see what the fan base wanted.they've been angered by what appears to be a minor badge change,we had the colour and badge completely changed.Cardiff fans are completely justified in their anger at what's been done.

You missed a small detail out........ a small dection of fans are angry.

Attendances at protests, sales of new shirt etc would back this up.

A very small minority shouting from MB's does nothing. 300 protesting is nothing.

Thank you. The messageboards and Twitter only represent a small minority of fans, people think the forums are the be all and end all where fans have a sob story on how they can't support us in red.

Agreed and pro blues goals are unattainable with Tan in charge.

Whilst the pro blues are unwilling to compromise nothing will happen in terms of change.

There needs to be compromise and a good way of making our first move is to get the badge changed to something more professional and balancing. Tan is not going to just give us our blue kit back like that. We must work with him.

If you think Tan gives a shit for your protests you are deluded. 300 fans showed up, thats roughly 1% of a full CCS. There's still another 24% of fans you need to find on that basis before Tan will even think about taking you seriously.

The reason I dont go to protests is its a waste of time. Whilst I would rather our old kit back and badge back I know its not happening under Tan. The sooner people realise that the better.

The thing is though there is no compromise with Tan thats why we all want blue back as our home kit not a compromise

No one has tried to compromise with him.

No one has said to Tan 'We accept your aims for this club and are very grateful for your investment, we accept your vision as red moving forward but please accept our viewpoints too. If you are to persist with your vision it must be done professionally and for that reason we deem the badge not appropriate moving forward. It is believed that the aim of the red kit is to be more marketable in Asia and we accept that but we want a more professionally designed badge for the 2014/2015 season. We want to be marketed in a professional capacity and we know by working with you, not against you, we can obtain what we want for this club moving forward. We want the best as im sure you do too. You wouldn't have stuck around so long if you did not want to and you wouldn't have invested in the first place if you did not believe this club could become a force on the pitch and off it. Lets work together and work towards a professional badge and something we can be proud of showing off on the global stage. We believe with active dialogue and working with the club we can do this. We have shown belief and trust in your vision, now its time to show a little faith in us'.

But the pro blues are unwilling to compromise on that basis so therefore nothing will ever happen. Thats what I will be petitioning for in August and I'll be setting up a website to that effect and I will be passing it on to staff members who've I exchanged communications with before. Its better than the current heap of shit badge we've got now and if from the 2014/2015 season we have got a brand new badge I will be very happy. I hate the current one. It represents Wales more than Cardiff City FC.

As I have said in another thread we did try to compromise but it fell on deaf ears and how are you even suppose to compromise with him if he won't even meet the fans , he keeps postponing it , he meeting with him for the end of this season was arranged months ago

There is no compromise on a true basis for this club. There has been no official compromise offered from either party. Its on us to make the first move as Tan has the stronger hand. He owns the club and has the money. We're not in a position to just sit back and not do something and we're not in a position to force Tan away from the table. Lets use our heads for once and do something professional that a Premier League club should be capable of.

A meeting with the fans is not the first step. The first step is a letter to Tan, supported by a large number of fans, that explains our points. There is no black, there is no white, we must compromise on the grey scale to suit each parties. It may not be ideal and ill admit that but I sure as hell would rather a more professionally designed badge than the heap of shit we have now.

Wow that is some post :thumbright:

I couldn't agree more. VT is too powerful to have a direct confrontation with and frankly it is not worth harming the long term future of CCFC over the rebrand issue.

Put in direct terms we owe VT big time for first saving our existence and then investing heavily in the football club which will eventually yield an expanded stadium, new training facilities and already delivered Premiership football.

We should help him with his Asian marketing, personally I can't think of one reason why I should be against Chinese/Malaysian or Korean fans buying a red Cardiff City top and pouring £millions into our coffers. If VT is clever he will sell Blue merchandise in South Wales and double his profits as we have no obligation to buy red.

The one thing to unite the marketing should be a professionally well designed badge/crest incorporating both the Bluebird and Dragon (as already suggested).

I would be amazed if VT didn't want to listen to us and indeed if he was to get rid of those hideous black shorts for white we could conquer America next with our Red White and BLUE marketing

Wow. A couple of you want the badge changed.
That makes it OK then does it?

Many people want the colour changed back to blue.
We don't want to compromise on that.
The increase in the amount of people wearing blue to matches over the last month has been quite considerable.

Let's compromise on the badge instead and have our colours back.
Much more important thank you.

Let it sink in.

AT HOME WE ARE ALWAYS RED. - done and dusted. You are not going to change his beliefs without offending him or forcing him out of the club. If you want Tan to stay then you must compromise with him.

How the hell do you know?
Are you on the board of directors?
Do you know Vincent Tan personally to speak to?

Your repeated monotonous statements ESPECIALLY IN CAPITALS are just your own point of view with no proof.
No more, no less.

Re: A MESSAGE TO CARDIFF FANS FROM THEIR CLUB OFFICIALS

Everton consulted their fan base because the club care about their fans, Cardiff did not consult their fan base as they didn't want to, they just decided to push ahead with what they wanted to do not what the fans would have wanted, it's simple, this is how the two clubs are different, one professional and one ... :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:

that's a cheap shot.it was the few who kept the club going for years when we were in the lower leagues.
