Ollies Palace use loan players to get to the premier league.

Tue May 28, 2013 5:48 pm

He gets through due to loan player Zaha wining the penalty, and loan player Kevin Phillips scoring from the penalty.

How ironic that he critises Watford for taking loan players.......

He's not criticising Watford for taking loan players, he's criticising them for having nearly a whole team of loan players.

What Watford have done is within the rules. We have done similar in the past, Dave Jones's last season. I am glad Palace have gone up though instead, a better away trip. Plus we have developed almost a rivalry with them since our semi final win.

I dont agree with the point your making here, He critised Watford for the over use of loan players, he has got a reasonable amount of players and hasnt taken advantage of the system. You surely will not here a CCFC fan raging about it as we have used large amounts of loanees in the past.

Yep and then owes his loan players, for getting him to the premiership.

Next he will want Zaha for next season and will try and borrow whoever he can to stay up, double standards always moaning about something.......

But there's a huge difference between bringing in a few loan players and taking nearly a whole team of loan players from one club. Holloway's not the only one who's criticised them, there's been a lot of criticism from a lot of clubs and fans because of it.

We did nothing like it. We utilised the loan rules for British based players, they were able to bend the international loan rules which allows unlimited loans. I say, 'bend' as the amount of loans only came about because all the clubs involved were owned by the same family.

They still didn't do anything wrong as the rule was there for bending, but it must have wrankled with the FA because the loophole is closed for next season.

Watford will have problems next season because of the restrictions put in place on their transfers, oddly they would have been okay had they gone up with the PL not wanting them hamstrung and make the competition uneven.

As for Zaha, I have a funny feeling he could find himself out on loan into the Championship with Man U not wanting him loaned in the Prem.

CRYSTAL PALACE will ask Manchester United whether they can loan Wilfried Zaha back next season after they were promoted into the Premier League.

United bought Zaha for £15m from Palace in January but it was agreed that he could stay at Selhurst Pack and help inspire the Eagles to promotion, which he duly did.

Zaha won the penalty that Kevin Phillips converted for a 1-0 win over Watford in the play-off final and now Palace co-chairman Martin Long is poised to ask United if they can have him back.

Long said: "They might want him to get experience in the Premier League playing for us rather than maybe not playing for them. I don't know, of course.

"We probably will ask."

New United boss David Moyes must weigh up whether Zaha will get enough game time in competition with the likes of Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia.

Palace manager Ian Holloway has not given up hope of keeping his best player despite the big-money transfer.
