Laudrup: Sky Sports Reporting...

Tue May 28, 2013 11:47 am

Eight clubs interested in taking him away (including PSG) but his first inclination is to stay at the Council-owned Library Stadium IF he is given sufficient funds to advance his ailing (since Wembley) team :o

They also stated he (Laudrup) and Huw Jenkins had not spoken to each other since the close of the season

Given Swansea's approach to 'spending' (rightly or wrongly) and their annual managerial 'merry-go-round' it looks like Laudrup will be on his way to pastures new sooner rather than later ;)

It's easy to take the mickey but I do (seriously) wonder what 'gives' down there or is it simply a matter of their managers being appreciated for their efforts at a small club? :? :ayatollah:

I saw that. They also said Laudrup wants a far bigger kitty than what's on offer. It did seem like a hint from Sky that there might be doings afoot there yet again

Well he hasnt stayed at any of his jobs for to long if you look at them and gone for one reason or another ,so could be interesting ,he may stay for a while but I do think that if something comes up he 'll go.

Re: Laudrup: Sky Sports Reporting...

Tue May 28, 2013 12:02 pm

I don't think he'll be going anywhere

Probably his agent chucking stuff out to the press to get his wages or money off the club for players.

Re: Laudrup: Sky Sports Reporting...

Tue May 28, 2013 12:05 pm

Laudrup's agent this morning - "Michael Laudrup, just now, is very happy at Swansea City. Of course Michael has had offers from elsewhere.
"Other teams can wait one or two years. We know Michael is going to train the big teams but this is not the moment."

He's happy here and is likely to stay next season, Sky Sports and their 'sources' aren't exactly the most reliable and I'd be very surprised if there was a conditional clause that meant he has to be given £14 million to spend. There's no sort of issues between Laudrup and the board, Laudrup understand how good are board is and has a very good relationship with them. We will be given money to spend, that's a given and it just seems as if Sky are covering all basis on the story, so that the story doesn't lose all credibility when he's inevitably given in excess of £14 million to spend next season.

I like how you debate whether our transfer policy is right or wrong though, no debt, three of the signings of the season last season whilst your approach to spending has got you in tens of millions of pounds of every growing debt.

Shall we debate the penny in the pound strategy that your club used to rip off local creditors? Or the fact that someone else owns your stadium? All of which would be able to increase your budget for Michelle Laudrup!

I believe Swansea's a stepping stone for laudrup.if a big club comes calling he'll be off, same as their other manager's and who can blame them.

The way we run the club in the past has nothing to do with the way our owners run the club, which is what the original post is referring to.

I think he'll more than likely leave next season, but he certainly won't leave due to the budget. We'll be giving him a budget, and he stopped speculation about Negredo because he knows we can't afford to realistically buy him, he's in line with the board's policy of buying players and it's just the speculation that you get on the back of the season that we had.

It's not relevant to us, because we run the club on a profit under our current owners.

You spent £10 million in the summer, which you didn't have to spend. You have huge debts, yet you're still spending money under your current owners.

Man. United are decreasing their debts, your increasing yours.

You clearly aren't in a position to spend £10 million when you owe £100 million, and that £10 million is just adding to the debt. It's not money that's coming in to the club, it's money that's being lent.
