I agreee.
Marshall was class last season. Arguably our player of the season

Would be a class 2nd choice keeper! Would provide good competition for Marshall and Lewis too

Honestly, if Villa are not giving him first team football it probably suggests he isn't the player he was.
For the wages involved, and the fact he wouldn't want to be no.2, I would say it wouldn't be a good signing.
Marshall was amazing last season and a big reason for our success, totally deserves a PL chance and I am very sure he will be superb again next season.

Shay Given is shit. Did you guys not see him at the Euros? Did you guys not see him at the very start of the season for Villa? There's a reason they resigned a goalkeeper they released and started to play him ahead of this 'class goalkeeper'.
Five years ago he would have been good yes, also now his wages are astronomical, Villa are trying to offload a load of shit on inflated wages.

Steve Bruce is ready to throw Shay Given a Premier League lifeline with newly-promoted Hull.
Tigers boss Bruce has made the capture of a top class keeper his number one priority, after completing the permanent signing of forward George Boyd on a free from Peterborough.
And veteran former Republic of Ireland ace Given has moved to the head of Bruce’s wish list after being told by Aston Villa that he should find himself a new club.
Keeper-hungry Bruce has been linked with moves for David Stockdale of Fulham and Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel this summer, but Given has become an attractive option because he can be bought for a knockdown £1million.
In comparison, Fulham are demanding £4m for Stockdale, who starred on loan for Hull as they cemented their return to the top flight after a three-year absence, and Leicester want £2million for Schmeichel.
Bruce has been handed a transfer budget of £15m, but doesn’t want to spend a lot on a goalkeeper as there are other areas of his squad that need strengthening for the challenge of staying in the top flight.
Given, 37, earns £60,000-a-week with the Villans and still has three years remaining on the deal he signed when he joined them from Manchester City for £3.5million in 2011.
Scotland international Boyd, meanwhile, has agreed a two-year contract at the KC Stadium.
The 27-year-old, who will be a free agent when his deal with relegated Posh runs out next month, played a key role in Hull's promotion triumph after joining on loan in February.

We don't need to waste money on Shay Given. Quality keeper but Marshall proved last season he's a top keeper too. Given probably better but not better enough to warrant signing him. We need to save all the money we have to strengthen in the defence and one the wings.
