i passed my test 4 months ago, and im with direct line! they give me the cheapest insurance of all, along with Aviva! i didnt go on anyone's name, basically im on my own name with no named drivers! im paying £2400 for the year

all i can say is dont even bother with the comparing websites, they're a pile of crap! or use one of your parents as the main driver and have you as the second!

Have a look at an Admiral multi car policy, can save yourself and anyone in your household with a car money on their insurance.

Get your parents to be the main driver and you be the 2nd driver, you will save a lot doing this.

those days are gone, they've cracked down on that

best to get your own insurance as you'll build your NCB up quicker making it cheaper in the long run!

Illegal to do that these days. If you put your parents as 2nd drivers however, that does help to reduce the price. Admirals best prices are usually through comparison websites and as I said previously check out the Multicar policies.

You are allowed to put parents on the policy even if your not in the same household, you are also able to open a multicar policy with your parents and direct family who also live at other adresses. Think the maximum may be 5 addresses.

I am living at home. What I meant is that both of my parents don't drive!

Only people that drive on this side of the family is my grandparents. Could I possibly put them on it or not?

On iKube my insurance for my first year was £1200. I couldn't drive between 11pm and 6am because of the tracker. If I did I would pay £35 fine on my premium. I did it once to go up the hospital so my insurance cost in total £1235. It was well worth it as others were quoting around £2000. I had no reason to be driving out late at night so didn't bother me one bit.
