The forthcoming season will test the our resolve

Mon May 27, 2013 7:37 pm

A lot of our fan base have only known Cardiff has a top of a table league club ,albeit in division 1 and the Championship.
Those of us which have supported this club over 20 years will be realistic about our chances next season . However I certainly get the impression that those young whipper snappers protesting against modern football will be first to turn on our owner(club)followed by hundreds more holding grudges over the rebrand.
Everyone needs to hold their nerve and relise how far we have come.

We need to pick our battles on and off the field :malky:

Carl, this season was an exceptional one and Tan has timed his rebrand perfectly. He picked a season to alter things when he bankedrolled us very lucratively, and we had a very successful season.

Next season will be very difficult and no doubt when things do start going against us there will be the elements of our fan base who call for Malkys head and blame Red for everything .

I think your right, the supporters that have followed the city for many years along with a lot of level headed new fans will
be more accepting of bad runs and results but I honestly believe with the right signings and the nucleus of the players and Malky
at the helm we will stay up.

We will lose more than we win but that shouldn't be a surprise to any Cardiff fan....

Can't fecking wait tbh  :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky:

So we never had a bad run in the Championship Hmmmm

I can remember the 2004/5 season very well not to mention a few lower mid table finishes. Anything like that will be hugely acceptable to all fans.

You're not wrong there, Christ there was folk moaning on here when 7 points clear at the top never mind a season of struggling.

Thankfully they will be the minority though.

Our crowds have been good since we got to the FA cup final. Before that we were lucky to get 15,000 for a league game.

I will say a 1/3rd of our support are Jonny come lately and that percentage will rise if the stadium expansion happens.

That's a high percentage who only know the good times. I expect them to stay next season being it will be the novilty of the premier but if we don't build stay up or survive only to struggle I wonder how many will stick around.

I would also be happy with a mid table finish, but I think you being pretty naive if you think all our fans would be happy, judging by the responses on this message board during this season.

Expectations will be lower next season, they have been high in recent years due to our progress in becoming a top championship team. I think people know we are in for a hard season. I know what your getting at mind will be a few moans as we go a few games without a goal or points. That's where a few sensible and more realistic fans can jump in and help...
