The Art of Never Giving Up...

You could say that is why Cardiff City are now a Premier league side, and more to the point why they are Champions.
From Saturday November the 24th when City secured a 2-1 victory away to Barnsley to put them Top of the Npower Championship, they never relinquished the position. They at times looked awesome and at times looked anything but.Hard work and a superb work ethic saw the bluebirds cross the line with a few games to spare.
One player who typifies the art of not giving up is Nicky Maynard.
On the 31/8/12 he joined Cardiff on a 3 year deal from West Ham for a reported £2.75m.
He made his Debut against Wolves in a 3-1 victory at the Cardiff City Stadium on the 2/9/12. During his 3rd appearance for the club in a game against Millwall in London, Nicky Tore his ACL and faced another career threatening few months.
He sat through rehabilitation watching his team mates revel in their glories and during January watched Fraizer Campbell arrive and find the net on a regular basis. He started light training and building back up his strength but still never imagined being involved in a competitive game. Hard work and a brilliant attitude saw Nickys Recovery exceed all of the clubs medical staff and fans beliefs and on the final day of the season he made his rightful return to the pitch and with effectively the last kick of the season h converted a penalty for his first goal of the season.
Nicky's Confidence going into the Premiership would've been very low had he gave up and just waited. But a Never give up attitude means he goes into the New season Brimming with Confidence.
