Because that is the figure that a team getting promotion to the premier will get over 4/5 years

And I for one am pleased as punch its not our focus this year.

The £120 million figure is based on one of the promoted teams going straight back down, they would get £60 million for finishing bottom of the league and then further parachute payments of £60 million over the next three seasons, this payment goes for the three teams that will go down next season providing they don't come back up in that three year period. All the other teams that stay in the premiership get a basic payment of over £60 million per season depending on what position they finish in the league.
