Top of the league from November the 24th

Sun May 26, 2013 9:54 pm

Easy to remember for me as its my birthday :) Lots of fans of other clubs say we werent that good, but think about it, for over 5 months, every team we played gave more than in any other game to beat us, as its always the case when sides play the team at the top. But we stood toe to toe with them all, and never came close to surrendering top spot :ayatollah: BLUEBIRDS :malky:

I have to agree with chuckle on this. Whilst I don't take anything away from what we achieved this the season I think the langue was in general average. Brilliant that we were top from November but we hardly set the division on fire did we

There is a big difference between entertaining football and effective football.

i think the teams were a lot more closely matched this year.a tough league to get promotion from.

its called passive aggressiveness

As for the league being average ,thats total bollocks. At the start of the season it was considered to be the strongest for sometime with Bolton,Wolves,Blackburn coming down with strong teams,Usual suspects like Forest,Leicester and leeds were expected to well aswell
seems many people (including some of our own fans strangely) are just looking to discredit Cardiffs outstanding acheivement.
Beating in form Leicester 1-0 with a superb defensive performance was a good a performance and result as smashing a lesser team 5-0 in my opinion

Every Season some blockhead states that the Championship is not as strong as blah blah blah!
The Truth is the Championship is growing stronger and getting more competitive every year.
There will always be the detractors who spout off with no evidence or facts. However theis years finish has seen one of the most competitive and exciting ever.

Not at all. The other day, Pontyclun Blue asked me to clarify something & "bumped it" in exactly the same manner that I have just done here. I'm just doing exactly the same as he did. Please see viewtopic.php?f=2&t=113413#p1139569 for reference.

Again, where did I say Cardiff were average? :?

Both the premiership & Championship have been weaker than previous seasons in my view. Competitive & exciting doesn't mean that it's a quality league.

An inter schools league can be exciting & competitive. Doesn't mean that it is of any quality though.

You can only best what's in front of you & that is exactly what Cardiff did & in some style. Looking at the bottom half of the premiership, I don't think there's too much to worry about either, especially with Malky at the helm.

Not at all, but he can't complain about something that he's done himself, eh? ;) Pontyclun likes jumping on my posts and trying to prove me wrong, often making himself look silly in the process. :laughing6:

Exactly! You have just qualified your post by saying "in my view" no facts or figures just your opinion, and that's fine as they are like areseholes everyone's got one!
You originally stated that the "rest were below average" I dont agree, and think you are talking rubbish.

Re: Top of the league from November the 24th

Mon May 27, 2013 11:27 am

Can you quote where I have said the rest of the championship was below average? no, you can't.

What I said was that an average team can finish top if the rest of the teams are below average... Not linked to any teams, you're just making assumptions. The poster said that its impossible for an average team to finish as league champions and that is not true, as my point would prove.

To see my opinion on Cardiff, see my later post. You say that the league has a high quality in it because it's "competitive and exciting" when neither of those characteristics add to the quality of the league.
