Over 20,000 Everton Fans so far have stood up to their Club

Sun May 26, 2013 5:57 pm

https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/ ... -the-badge

To:
Everton Football Club

Keep the wreaths and motto of Everton Football Club, don't change the badge. This will not only be an embarrassing crest to represent the club but it will also make the club lose money on merchandise, due to no one wanting to buy any merchandise with that awful crest printed on to it.

Respect to them for taking action quick. :ayatollah:

When a group of us (Chuckles included) tried to fight back in the beginning, we were threatened or abused by our own fans, because people wanted Premier League football.

Yet a year later, when the Premier League has been reached and people get what they want they start speaking out Against Modern Football and the rebrand.

Its all just too late. You can't resuscitate something/someone that died a year ago.

You made your decision summer last year and Tan accepted your offer. Its too late to change your mind. The contract is done.

I therefore give up and decided to just go with it. Chuckles however wont give up. He doesn't know when to stop and hes fighting a lost cause. His drive to return us to blue is admirable but its not going to happen. Tan was all ears last summer and fans made their choice.

You cant change the terms of the offer to suit you now. Its too late and Tan is the one in control. I said it then and I'll say it now, 'you reap what you sow'. Sad, but true, and thats why I am just embracing it now because its done and dusted as far as im concerned. If I continue moaning im only tormenting myself.

Two ships sailed last summer.

1) Reluctantly accept the rebrand at the cost of playing in red and have a new badge design

2) Oppose the rebrand and fight it whatever it took

The majority chose 1. A minority chose 2. Others like TLG chose to walk away and not board any ship. The minority who chose 2 were abused and either forced to board 1 or carry on being subject to ridicule. Now that ship 1 has reached its destination, the PL, suddenly loads want to clamber on to boat 2. Too late sorry, both were heading in different directions and you chose which ship to board last summer. Be a man and accept your fate.

You cant have everything you want in life so suck it up.

Thats a big response to my 5 words
I accept that we will be red while Tan is here unfortunately but I will never wear red , I will continue to wear blue at Cardiff games , he can't force me to buy red and I won't.

It's like comparing apples and oranges if folk are comparing Everton's case with ours.

It is indeed , if you compare the 2 all Evertons badge really is making the Tower more prominent and losing the wreaths and the motto, compare that to our old badge It would be like losing the Daffodil and the dragon and the bluebird being more prominent .

they get a new badge which is very similar to their original one, no colour change or anything... really can't compare the both!

Completely different situation.

Completely different situation. In changing our identity, we Recieve a shed load of money.. (Albeit loaned;)) which turned people's heads.

I'm sure if someone just changed our colours for no reason, there would be just as much uproar.

True. As it happens I think their new badge is quite nice from a design point of view. A tweaked/modernised version of their old one.

If our new badge had been designed by somebody who knew anything about design, it might have made it easier for some to accept. As it is though, it just reinforces the suggestion that it was done on a whim!

Everton fans are asking for this one now and I wouldn't be surprised if they get it.

We should have said to Tan, we'll accept the red but we want a new badge but instead everyone just panicked. Oh well, its done now.

3 ships sailed.. The third ship housed wankers who called fans that just got on with the rebrand sell outs , plastics and soul sellers making themselves look like c**ts :thumbright:

Difference with everton is they are an established premier league side, we were in the championship and up to our eyeballs in debt

Re: Over 14,000 Everton Fans so far have stood up to their C

Mon May 27, 2013 6:34 pm

Some of our fans were shit scared we were going to go bust if we didn't accept red (remember Steve Borley's 'red or dead' threat) and reluctantly agreed to the complete loss of our identity.
Only now are fans realising that was not going to be the case. It was just that Mr. Tan likes red.

Everton will not go bust if they don't change their badge. There is no veiled threat to their fans like there was to ours.

Completely different situation.

I really hate drama queens  Nobody abused or threatened anyone that is a complete urban myth. There were passionate debates for and against but no-one was physically threatened.

The majority of fans wanted the rebrand with a vision to being a Premier League club and settling historical debts. That left a choice for the anti-rebrand minority they either joined in or walked away.

Nonsense like the above post does absolutely nothing to help the blue cause. It would be nice for once if the minority who didn't want the rebrand would explain just how they would have financed the club without the £Millions VT invested?

I don't like playing in red but I hate the thought of CCFC going out of business even more. Just look at Newport County it took them 24 years to get back into the Football League after the original County were wound up, would you honestly want that for CCFC?

To say that the majority wanted the rebrand is hilarious.
