Nothing story really as that airline is expensive compare to the ones who fly to the same locations from Bristol.

I actually seen a new advert on the back of a Cardiff Bus earlier on.It said 'Fly to the USA from Cardiff Airport' I then got excited until I got close enough to read the small print which said 'Via Dublin'!!!

The place is a f*cking joke and its a disgrace that the WAG are pouring our Taxes into it when the Welsh NHS is on its arse!!!!

Something we agree on at last.

Give it time. The place has been so badly run for the last god knows how many years, its going to take some time to repair relationships with companies, in time it could become a great little airport. Doesnt have to grow in size just attract the right companies again.

Need a good airport to help the economy grow. Think of potential football traffic now available to them.

Best way forward is the "cheap" airlines to encourage the passengers. Then the long haul will follow and more passengers. Real problem could be transport links/access.

Not a fan of the WAG but I am prepared to give them a chance to turn this failing business around.
If it is successful they will claim the credit, if it fails they will blame the management company they put in there.

Within 5-6 years I'm told there will be a new train link from the airport to Cardiff central and along with the new refurbishment all the major airlines have promised to return to Cardiff. This will tie in with the champions league final and would also be important news for our football club

Great for the city and the club. Maybe we could allow people travelling to the ladyboy stadium to fly in/out of there? If they are still in the top leagues by then.

I see what you are saying mate, but run properly and that airport could turn out to be a gold mine for us. Cardiff especially wouldn't be able to class itself as proper European capital without a decent thriving airport. its the one thing that's been letting us down, so hopefully now it will start getting its act together

I have said all along that Wales needs a decent airport to allow international access. Will the WAG purchase of Cardiff Airport be a stroke of genius? It depends how well they manage it. The jury is still out for me but as previous posters have said, the place was a horrific embarrassment when they first bought so it's going to take time to turn around.

Heard they are going to appoint a management team - hope so, and it not a load of their cronies. A proper experienced management team would be great, paid on results with incentives to encourage more flights and profits.
Could be superb for the region, even down towards the dark side of Wales tbh

It's a great idea flying to the USA via Dublin as that's the only immigration you'll have to go through it beats the 3 hr queues in the USA because of staff cutbacks in the airport I'm just looking into flying that route to San Fran/vegas

Before Peter Thomas sold it we were the equal of Bristol, but the Spanish company that run it, ran the buisiness into the ground, hopefully it will become a big employer for the South Wales area and we will all use it, who the hell wants to fly from London or Manchester? I don't, lets keep the money in South Wales to help build our economy.

Spot on like Cardiff City, give it time to grow and allow them time to repair the mistakes of the last thirty years :ayatollah:

I find it much cheaper but that's Ryanair via stansted to Frankfurt Hahn.

If people think that Cardiff Airport will be better under WAG they are on cloud 9!!!

Especially when they are looking to merge both Cardiff and Bristol and make a 'Sevenside Airport'

Were you going to invest and try and make it something to be proud of ? They've only been in there for a few months, give them a chance.Quick results aren't always the best

I am not a fan of the public sector generally - a bunch of moaning under worked bar stewards who strike when asked to lift a finger ( cue a chorus of complaints from those who work there and their liberal frends) ......, however , I actually think that the WAG may make a good job of this. They appear to appreciate the importance of the airport and in recent years this is an example of private ownership failing.

As a city, Cardiff is a great place to visit and South Wales has a lot to offer. Why we lag so far behind to Dublin and Edinburgh is beyond me. A bit of joined up thinking between marketing the region and bringing in new airlines could work.

Good luck the WAG on this one as getting this right is more important than a lot of people realise.

Obviously getting the South Wales public using the airport is also important and getting a low cost airline in will help with this.
