What have I done to myself???

Ok, so here's what happened my old laptop died this afternoon, to be fair it was 4 years old and was probably had more virus' than a cheap whore!

Anyway down to Currys Newort Rd I go, in my head I didnt want to spend more than £500, well I've walked out with a Macbook Pro and I have no idea how to use it, I do not know how it happened but the little tw@t in currys bamboozled me with talk of no virus' and how much better mac is than PC, and lets be fair its a sexy piece of kit!! I've got an iPhone so I'm no stranger to apples well designed products.

Anyone on here know if he was telling the truth or whether I've just bought something I'll never be able to use!!

Best piece of kit on the market. They're faster and more powerful than most and Apple are bulletproof against viruses.

Bad move.....my cousin works for Currys and gave me the heads up that they have a 30% off all sale starting the 1st of June.

Always buy apple products, much better in my opinion.

I had bad advice buying a PC from Curry's years ago. I personally wouldn't buy from them again.

I did get the 2 year apple care for it, but i have that with my iPhone also...

This^^^^^^^^^bought a laptop and 2 netbooks for the kids from currys and they were shit. screen broke on the 2 netbooks and they didnt want to know. wouldnt buy f**k all from them again

For best quality build your own PC. Apple computers are overrated but if you're a novice and you are scared of viruses an excellent choice.

They can get viruses by the way but there's just not as many as on Windows. Install Sophos Anti Virus and you'll be fine mate. Run it every Sunday. Done and dusted.

Custom built PC with Linux is the best way to go with dual boot Windows for gaming on a dual monitor setup.

Currys, Apple Shop, etc., etc. all the same...

Their ONLY interest is to sell, sell, sell AT ANY COST preferably with the 'added protection'

As a rule, browse the Internet, browse through "Computer Shopper" magazine for advice, then buy what you want online. Works out cheaper too.

If you know nothing about it, why not go into the apple shop in St Davids 2 centre and ask for a tutorial, bought mine from Comet and like you was completely baffled when I tried to use it , went into the Apple shop paid a small sum and had about 3 /4 weeks with one to one with their staff, and I must say they were excellent to deal with.

A salesman dream is an understatement, he started talking it can do this and that, and to be honest i just wanted shot of him, so I just ended up saying yeh whatever I'll have one I just wanna go home now!! My mrs weren't to happy though, she wanted a holiday and I bought a laptop

Mac's do get viruses it's just very uncommon, if your being stupid on your laptop expect to get into some trouble.

The other problem is when a Mac breaks your in for a very hefty bill to get it fixed.

Excellent bit of kit, very different from a Windows based PC though
