Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has dismissed rumours linking him with Everton

Cardiff manager Malky Mackay has played down talk linking him with the vacancy at Everton.

The Toffees are in the hunt for a replacement for David Moyes, who has joined Manchester United after a decade at Goodison Park.

Mackay is one of several names linked with the post, along with Roberto Martinez, Alan Stubbs and Phil Neville.

The 41-year-old has successfully guided the Bluebirds into the Premier League and insists he is making plans to strengthen the Cardiff squad

When asked about the link to Everton, Mackay told Talk Sport: "It's really just paper talk.

"I'm focused on what I'm doing at Cardiff. We've got a really busy time at the moment in terms of bringing players in, and the next couple of months are crucial for our team in terms of surviving in the Premier League.

"We need to go up there and give ourselves the best chance. For the last three weeks I've been out every day looking at different players. I'm just getting on with my job right now."

I am aware Malky is going nowhere but I am confused at your post :?

At which point did Malky say "I am going nowhere" as all I see above are the usual platitudes, i.e. "I am focused on my job" and "It's all paper talk really"?

No definitive statement (not that I think he needs to make one TBH) :ayatollah:

But at no point has he said I am DEFINITELY not going. This is the worry. By so doing he is keeping his options open
