I don't mind Curtis, one of those that played for both with equal distinction.

I'll second that
He was a quality player for us also ended up captaining the side before returning to the Jacks.
He was also supporters club player of the year too

Yes I heard it, but I will forgive Alan Curtis as he was great playing for Cardiff, also he was born in the Rhondda like me .

Alan Curtis was just being funny, in an ironic way no way do I believe he is in the Leighton James or any of the former jacks frame of mind of dissing Cardiff City. Spoken to him on a number of occasions and he has always spoke highly of us

Curtis is swansea through and through and i don't have a problem with that and hes a tidy guy unlike that old c**t leighton james

I'm not, he's a great bloke, used to see him regularly in the Griffin pub in Pentre with his father. Loved his time at Cardiff, and took all the micky taking in the pub about being a jack in good spirits.

Curtis was a great player for us, never really dragged into the stupidity after he left either, what you lads should be ashamed of in the Rhondda is the last thing you see as you head out of Treherbert and up the Rhigos is a bloody Swansea flag on a post above a shed on the side of the road. Spolit my day on Saturday seeing that .

That flag has been targeted several times, unfortunately there is a very large dog on the allotment running free, sadly it's there to stay !

Massive jack but a fantastic player in his day, scored one of the best goals I have seen in a city shirt he made Wrexham look stupid in the 88 cup final down the vetch

My family are originally from Ton Pentre (and yes, all Swans fans) and my dad knew Curt very well, through this link I've met him several times. He's one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet.
Leighton James on the other hand is a total c**t. He's a f*cking disgrace.

Roy Paul was another great player, before my time of course

I believe he brought the F.A Cup to show around the Rhondda when he won it with Manchester City.

alan curtis is a top bloke. he might be a jack but so what he spent a lot of his career there. I will also never forget his contribution in 87/88 was it? and that goal at the vetch in the welsh cup final was one of the best live goals ive ever seen, and on enemy territory on a another day we took swansea over.....

Alan Curtis a fantastically talented player for both us and Swansea was down the Vetch when he scored that stunning goal against Leeds i was in the away end

Never met him but he always comes over well and he was superb during his time with us and I have no problem with him supporting the Jerks now Respect

As my name implies I have been a referee for more years than I care to remember. When taking about Alan Curtis I recall back to the day I was appointed 4th official at Ninnian Park when City Played Plymouth in the league cup. Burrows was manager (he had the longest legs I have ever seen) and I was sat next to the City Dug out next to Curts as a sub, we got chating during the game, what a fab guy he is, and what a crazy game that was. city went 4-0 down after 35 minutes. Burrows leaned forward and in that gruff Scottish accent growlled at me "You all the only one of the four B----ards you lot not having a F---king Nightmare" at which point Curts fell about laughing. Curts had the last laugh He went on at half-time and insired a come-back with city winning 5-4 Great Guy, Great match.
My experience of "Mr James" as Llanelli Manager in the Welsh League was somewhat Different!!!!

He used to yeah, moved a long time ago, at least 20 years I'd have thought.

Famous photo of Alan Curtis being carried shoulder high by City fans off the Ninian Park pitch after the Crewe game in 1988. Was there, behind the goal, when he scored that brilliant goal against Wrexham in the Welsh Cup Final, at the Vetch! Top player, and a good bloke. He's Swansea through and through, but he did well for us too. He devotes a chapter of his autobiography to his time here, entitled 'Bluebird'. He enjoyed his time at CCFC! One of the game's gentlemen.
