Senior professionals Heidar Helguson and Stephen McPhail will leave the Club when their contracts expire on June 30th 2013. We wish both men the very best of luck for the future after fantastic service to Cardiff City. Kevin McNaughton, meanwhile, has been offered a new 2 year contract.

We released all we could from the first team squad, apart from Kev. No one else was out of contract.

Quite right. Just because we haven't "released" a player doesn't mean we won't sell if we can find a buyer or get a good offer.

I think the remaining squad will do OK with 4-5 quality additions but don't be surprised if others get sold before the end of August

True, my wordings were not right, what I was trying to say was, would you transfer any of our players and try and sell them, or are you happy with all those that are left for Premier League football?

Every team which went up and made significant changes to their squad have struggled to survive in the premiership.

Those which keep a core just manage to survive; if Cardiff replace majority of their starting XI, the work ethic, the professionalism and the momentum of winning games from championship disappears. I'd rather bring in players who will only improve the team, not dismantle it and start from scratch again.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few on he players with a year left may leave, Tommy Smith springs to mind. A few will be out on loan like Kiss and Mason.

The club will never show their hand this early if players are surplus to requirements. That way they may get a nice hefty bid.

For all we know malky might want to ship a few out, but normally when you have the cash to spend you bring in before you sell otherwise you end up like liverpools forward situation last aug. I'd like to think we will be selling in the last couple of weeks of aug

Annis, my understanding s that a 'number' of players are 'sweating' on their position for next year (quote) "depending on who Malky gets in to replace them"

Seems the exit door is still ajar but we would want a 'fee' for those that are still in contract for next season

No we need to add better players to what we have already got.

We need as big a squad as possible for the prem.

I'd rather have mcnaughton come in to the team then a player from the development squad.

I think that we still have players who are not premier standard and will not see a lot of football. There are others who would benefit from periods out on loan. We need at least 4-6 quality signings.

I'm not concerned about what other clubs are doing Annis just concerned with ours and on that basis I think MM has got things spot on.

We can take nothing for granted in respect of the players we are chasing and until they have signed MM will want all the players that are under contract available to him.

IMO should try and sell the likes of Etien Velikonja, Simon Lappin and maybe Filip Kiss. Then bring on 4 to 5 good players!

The rest of them I'd say keep them, rotate and play the non regular starters for League cup and FA cup. Premiership survival is most important, especially the first season!

Agree with this. I would loan out Ralls, Kiss, Velikonja.

We need a large squad in the premier and the current squad plus 4/5 quality players could well be enough

Why release when you could sell them in the window?

We could make a couple of million from these players by selling them to Championship teams and that could cover the wages of a new incoming signing. Got to balance the books and not just cut the deadwood and spend, spend, spend. Thats the reason we're in the shit in the first place. Poor financial management.

I would keep Mason he could be very valuable to the team next season if given a chance

People talking about having a big squad in the Premiership have obviously not done their research. The maximum number of players you can have in the first team squad in the Premiership is 25 so forget any talk of adding loads of players to what we've already got as it can't be done.

You can have any number of under 21 players to supplement that squad - an under 21 player for the 2013/14 season will be someone born after 01/01/1992. The players currently in our first team squad that that can be registered as under 21 players are Kadeem Harris, Joe Ralls and Ben Nugent.

We currently have 26 first team players. Take the 3 above out of this and we have 23 players. No way can we add 4/5 players without losing some. Personally I would sell/release a further 6 players and bring in 6 over 21 players and at least the same number of under 21 players, maybe more.

Not every Premiership team registers 25 players - last season Everton only registered 19 players plus 29 under 21 players. Similar with Chelsea registering 20 players and 63 under 21's. The Jacks only registered 22 first team players.

It's not about quantity, it's the quality that counts.

Yeh not good enough for the premiership imo, maybe velikonja is but still unproven, if they were good enough for the premiership they would have broke through the first team and become regular first team players at championship level imo but they haven't

i would look at loaning out kiss and velikonja to the championship... think ralls and nugent will stay with the dvp side.

No rush to sell players here we got a squad of 25 to finalize. build up who we got then decide whose getting shiped out
in a few weeks whats the point letting a lad go til we know we got a replacement mackay left it til the las cpl of weeks
las season and we went up. 2 seasons so far and his only obviuos mistake has been Velikonya

Just a reflection of how bad their squad is overall if you ask me. Our squad is quite solid and we also have good team cohesion and that is very important when it comes to staying up in the Premier League.
