Above is a list of the 2012/13 squad players and the number of appearances they made, which of the above players who are still at the club do you think are good enough for a side newly promoted to the PL ?

Worried Huds might be a bit slow. I'm sure he can prove me wrong!

Marshall, Turner, Taylor, Kimbo, Mutch, Whitts, Gunnar and Campbell will be regulars IMO
Conway, Noone, Cowie, Hudson, Connolly, Maynard and Gestede will need to work very hard to get a chance of playing regularly.
The likes of Velikonja, Smith, Lewis and Lappin will hardly get a look in.

Agree with this apart from hudson, he wasn't a premier league player at his peak, definitely not for me this season, but eternally greatful to him after the season he just had.

Marshall, Bellers, KimBo, Whits, Huds, Campbell or Maynard, maybe Noone, maybe Taylor, maybe Turner for some games, possible Mutch if we can't sign better....
Thu May 16, 2013 10:27 pm
No disrespect to the current players, but we need 4 proven premier players - to play every game.
Thu May 16, 2013 10:39 pm
Marshall Turner Taylor Hudson Kimbo Witts Gunner Mutch Bellers Campbell Maynard

Personally, I'm not sure many of them are guaranteed to start regularly and put in consistent performances. I would say Marshall, Gunnarsson, Kimbo, Bellamy, Campbell and Maynard are the ones I am least worried about.
Taylor has improved a lot this season to be fair and I'm not as worried about him as I was. Hudson was superb this season but next season is a completely different story. I really think he will struggle. Back after a long injury, against quicker and more skillful players... hmmm. The same goes for Turner and Connolly.
The likes of Conway, Noone, Cowie and Whittingham will also struggle. This season I think a lot of lads will be in for a big shock.

surprised to see so many posts so far leaving Gunnarson out, hes a rock in his position, all depends what type of formation Malkay looks to play in the PL tho IMO

Marshall, Hudson, Turner (will step up IMO), Taylor, Gunnarson, Mutch, Kim, Whitts, Bellamy, Campbell --> will all play huge roles in the EPL squad IMO.
We should be looking at the Norwich team (who signed a lot from the Championship) and thinking how many of our players were considered 'only as good as' some of ours. They've stepped up.
Need a new RB and a new RM for first team and we have potentially a Mid-table squad (if we can sign some EPL quality depth). I just hope we aren't in the business of recycling relegated players - OK one or two, but so many players are given the title of an EPL player and actually probably aren't any better than what we already have.
think about it this way - when we've played Prem opposition in the past - how many of the players surprised you and stepped up to perform against the EPL opposition? It's a completely different thing playing a technically good side as opposed to a side that looks to hoof the ball over the midfield over and over.
Whitts will step up 100%.

Marshall
Hudson
Kim
Gunnarsson
Mutch
Bellamy
Campbell
Maynard
All can cut it in the premiership but we need at least 5 players to stay up imo. We have had a good season but we haven't exactly killed teams off and set the championship on fire with our football this season that's why i think we must get some proper quality footballers in to kick on now.

This

This x2. I don't think Whitts will be a regular next season!! I still think Whitts is a good player but just out of position!!
Fri May 17, 2013 6:13 pm
i dont think gunnarsson is a premierleague player, not technically good enough for me.
Fri May 17, 2013 9:43 pm
For me....
Marshall,
Hudson, (1 season only)
Andrew Taylor
Kev (Sub)
Gunner
Cowie (to break up play, great engine)
Kim
Mutch
Campbell
Maynard
That's about it for me, we need a RB, a CB, creative midfield (Whitts aint it...Lazy), and a target man, and another winger, who don't get pushed off the ball as easy as Noone.
5 first team for me.....................

I homnestly belive kim bo has to be a regular starter for the blues, spent too much time of the bench at the start of last season. i'd also like to see velikonja have a few starts see how he gets on!
