Id like 2 centre backs, but i cant for one think realistically who we would get who would be good enough, I thought danny wilson would be a first teamer at liverpool by now, but he cant even get a game in europa qualifiers and has been shipped off on loan everywhere, Man Utd dont really have anyone of quality and a few games that we know of willing to go on loan, as do chelsea, arsenal, everton, liverpool, man city etc etc. The rest of the clubs we are competeing against so will be looking at there first teamers, and i cant see any being sold to us.

Maybe the full back everton took from barnsley, not seen much of him, but hes raved about, stones?? i think it is.

Naughton at spurs is a shout, think he could improve us at full back, either side.

Would WBA let dawson go? Poss on loan...Do we need an untried center half or is it to much of a gamble?

Read somewhere that Pearce is supposedly nailed on to liverpool. Cant announce it as its a bosman and they cant really approach him until his contract is up.

From the championship, id take Grant Hanley from Blackburn.

Danny Simpson - His pace is amazing! A right back plays for Newcastle United.
Kyle Naughton - Good pace and has some PL experience.
Leon Barnett - Solid player would be good back up.

Danny simpson is a muppet, was pics floating round of him knocked clean out on a night out in newcastle. Plus he's not going to not sign a new contract at them to come to us,

Curtis Davies or Wes Morgan and Roger Espinoza from Wigan, who has been playing left back this season at times but is better played as a left wing back or winger. There might be a chance that he is only on loan at Wigan as they did sign him from Sporting Kansas in the MLS originally on loan for the season, but they may have signed him permanently by now, im just not sure. If he he is just on loan to Wigan from Kansas and with Wigan being relegated now, i think that we could get him for around £1m - £1.5m, perhaps even cheaper. Go on Malky son, sign him up!!

Adam Matthews, absolutely despise jones for letting him go, and for nothing. Not going to happen but Carragher could have done a really good job for us.

Yeah, he has been playing regular for Brum and he has popped in with at least 5-10 goals. I remember him play for Villa a few seasons ago alongside Laursen at centre half and he was brilliant and even talk of him playing for england. But, he then suffered a really bad injury and was out for nearly a year and when he did get back to full fitness, because of a new manager coming in he did not start many games, so Birmingham signed him on loan. They signed him then for around £1m - £2m as he was quality for them. I think he has won player of the year for them a few times and i am amazed that no other Prem clubs have been in for him. Personally i think he is a brilliant centre half and exactly the type of centre half that we need - tall, pacey, great in the air in both boxes, reads the game well, is very determined, great organiser and is captain material. I would be extremely happy if we were to sign him. Having said that i have just found out that we are after Virgil van Dijk from Gronigen (sp?) in Holland. He is also a fantastic centre half and he is a bit taller and a bit more dominant in the air than Curtis Davies. Whoever we sign, i think all the fans would be extremely happy with the players we do sign, especially with us being linked to players in the calibre of Bafetimbi Gomis, Bony, Kalou, Kuyt, etc.
