Or maybe they just want to see their club in their rightful colours?

BigGwynram wrote:Now this isn't meant as a piss take or a wind up, and it was said to me in a conversation with an eminent Psychologist who deals with football disorder among many other things.
Young men of a certain age, look for an outlet for their increasing testosterone levels and look to test themselves and prove their manhood etc. Most of us go through this age, most of us grow out of it, some cling to it as if clinging to their youth, some of us just dye our hair and use bottox.
Those of us of a certain age may recognise this period in our lives, some find an out let such as testing themselves individually be taking up boxing, judo, Karate etc. some take up a team sport and use up their energy's that way, plus the chasing women scenario and spreading the seed is part of this stage ( I missed that bit).
Now, whilst never classing myself as a hooligan, in some people's view or opinion, me and others like me would have come under that banner simply by being around it and occasionally caught up in it, and yes there was a buzz and adrenaline rush at times, you test yourself and even coming unstuck at times but surviving would give you a rush and your mates patting you on the back for standing your ground even though you took a slapping, it can become addictive.
With age though comes a bit of wisdom and experience ( in most cases) we look back smile and sometimes cringe at what we went through and what we must have looked like. Some however can't move on and try to cling to those times and search for that rush as they call it.
Well modern football is no longer the place it was and those days have gone, yeh you will get the occasional situation, but less and less and the price people pay for getting caught up in things is far greater than a twenty second rush of adrenalin that comes with it.
This is one of the reasons some people want to be standing next to the away fans, safely protected by a fence mind, that way they can look their enemy in the eye, puff out their chest and use up some energy by giving it the big I am, yet knowing they got more chance of winning the lottery that bumping into the lad they been giving the cut throat gesture and pointing outside as if they are arranging to fight them later.
Yes it does create a hostile atmosphere and it can give a rush, but go somewhere like Germany and be part of that atmosphere and then tell me you need violence to recreate it, bollocks, atmosphere is that atmosphere, you don't need enemies, you don't need violence, but you do need passion and sometimes effort to get it going, but simply saying you need to be next to away fans to create an atmosphere is so yesterday, and rather than keep blaming it for the lack of atmosphere, perhaps people would be better off looking to ways to create a unique one, which I'm sure we at Cardiff can do better than most.
So to replace that outlet, if it can't be found by contact with like minded away fans ( otherwise known as the enemy![]()
people need a new target, now the establishment are always a likely target, the Police, the Referee, the League, their own club management or owners, anyone in authority will be seen as the opposition who are telling them what to do therefor in their eyes a challenge to their manhood.
Now to the red and blue divide, now there are exceptions to every rule and this is just an opinion gauged from what I have found. the divide is split among all age groups, but a lot of the anti rebrand support comes from the age group where in the past people of that age would be doing the hooligan thing, now that's been taken a way from them, they see themselves as guardian angels and fighting for their identity, by defending the club's identity, much like guarding your patch from the invading Chelsea's hoards or going to Chelsea mobbed up and taking the piss etc.
A lot of the older ones among our fan base who tasted the despair and worry that went with the threat of going out of business year after year and being inside a stadium that they had been it when there was fifty seven thousand people and now there was two thousand, that feeling of despair is one you would not want to face again, those that say it would be a price worth paying must have as selective memory or simply weren't there, and yes we had some great times and great memories at Ninian Park, but we had far more crap soulless times, it's just a defense mechanism that we tend to put them one side in our memory bank and tend to remember the good times instead.
Seen by those involved as puffing their chests out and defending their manor. So having some foreign investor come along as we have had at Cardiff and bringing the changes he has, is seen by this group as a red rag to a bull and they see themselves as defenders of the manor. Yet if debated few of them have or had a plan B and possibly losing our club as a price for winning a battle wasn't something they gave much thought to, a bit like winning a battle with rival fans, and afterwards realising it is on camera and you are going to jail, at the time of events you don't think of the consequences, it is more important to save face and back your mates up.![]()
A bit like when it was so bad at Ninian Park, away fans wouldn't come there, so we created enemies among ourselves, Cardiff versus the Valleys, town v town, etc we created new enemies, perhaps it's all part of growing up.
f**k me I'm staring to sound like Ghandi, peace and love brothers, it's the new way forward.

Even if it means playing in the Welsh League.

Don't you think you over play the victim card?
It is becoming very boring reading the same crap time and again about 'assumptions' 'belittlement' or 'having a different opinion'. Frankly you have flogged it to death and it is becoming tiresome seeing threads absolutely ruined by your boring posturing.
Try something new or please find something else to do with your spare time.

I really think he's on a wind up, no one can be that boring and pedantic surely, I think he deserves more credit that we give him, if not, my God, I bet his life must be soo exciting.![]()

Again, getting personal for no reason other than we have different opinions. Can't you see that it's pretty pathetic to do that? I respect your views Gwyn, I just wish you had the decency to respect others!
Why do you feel the need to get personal and start giving digs at people? You've already told me to get a girlfriend once (rather a strange thing to say though.) & I've already told you that I have one... You didn't seem to listen last time though.

Come on now Chucks, one that you have to inflate can't really be classed as a girlfriend, mind you at least she may go down on you now and then.
